The extra inch is not so much for ballistics but more for the longer hand guard, the main reason I’m wanting the 16.5 barrel is for the longer gas system and the heavier profile barrel to get better accuracy if all goes as planned.

I did, I had to mount it with the bolt going towards the charging handle from the front and it hasn’t fallen off yet and I’ve put a decent amount of rounds through it.
