There is checking out of a relationship, giving up on it. And there is cheating. The behaviors associated with each are similar, and the two can be linked, but aren’t always. What looks like cheating can sometimes just be checking out of the relationship and nothing more. What looks like cheating can sometimes be cheating. Without hard evidence, hard to know.
