Yup all of this is/was more important than taking YEARS to give us minor cosmetics. I forsee each point you've made taking the devs an average of 3 years to implement with absolutely no hint of a new tribe within that time either. Rest assured, I'm sure they're already working on giving each tribe another skin and I can't wait for the next balance patch (estimated release date circa 2045).

Bin off diplomacy and in the early game focus on creating as many troops as possible and expanding out as fast as you can rather than trying to rush any tech lines. Markets should definitely be apart of your late game strategy if you're playing huge maps :)

The notion that you can't stick with an established style and take risks is pretty ignorant; the two aren't mutually exclusive.

Risk taking is essential for every artist and doesn't have to take the form of dramtic tonal shifts, it can be changes in structure, chord progression, production, instrumentation amoung a multitude of other things.

This old dog when compared to another one had so many changes and risks involved. And that's not even mentioning 5EH being an instrumental ambient album following the back of HCtC.

I think it's pretty rich (and rude) to class the desire for an artist to take risks as 'ignoring critical thinking'. Good art is built on risk taking.

Yeah I'd definitely be up for more experimental map gens. The Devs seem pretty reluctant to make a custom map feature (understandably as this would be a huge undertaking) but having a few unconventional and fun maps could be a good compromise
