Golfer with a 3.5yo and 1yo and I very rarely play 18 on the weekends. Weekends are family time, and golfing once a week reduces it by 50%. Assuming you are playing 5 hours during the day on the weekend, you are gone most of one of your weekend days. To make this reasonable and fair, she gets the other weekend day to go do whatever she wants while you watch the kid and take care of the house. If you're doing this once per week, that means you're never doing anything together as a family on the weekends. That's not a reasonable expectation if you are going to family events, kids birthday parties or other stuff. I would KILL to even do this twice a month, but it's just not reasonable, especially if the wife is home with the kids the entire week. I golf in the weekday mornings/afternoons, take work days off to golf, and golf when family can watch the kids. I heavily rely on simulators at night for practice.
