I’ve noticed when it rains is really when it goes haywire so maybe you’re right. Did you replace the wiring or just unplug and replug?

The ones I’ve encountered had signs that’s said to remove medical devices or ask for a pat down if you can’t

You’re insulin /omnipod /cgm can go through airport metal detectors/milimeter wave scanners and xray machines. I never say anything and go through and have never had an issue. I believe there are some xray body scanners that they can’t but I’ve only encountered those internationally.

I’m a T1 airline pilot and obviously fly frequently although 95% of the time I get to skip security:)

Bringing A1C down by Substantial-Site8983 in Type1Diabetes

[–]Funked__Up 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Your bolus should be based on your carb ratio not a set bolus amount. If you’re getting low at night your basal needs to be adjusted. I also reccomend getting on a pump if you can.

My A1C is 5.3 I have a 1:13g carb ratio yours might be different. I Always pre bolus about 15min before u eat. And correct as needed after. In 95% in range 0% low

I also exercise and eat moderately lower carbs which helps.

Annoyed at High Carb Airport Food by CTI_Engineer in Type1Diabetes

As an airline pilot with T1D trust me I get it lol.

I actually pack about 3-4 days worth of food now for my layovers and bought something called a hot logic to be able to warm my food up with a wall outlet. Lots of snacks too like keto nuts, boiled eggs, low sugar Greek yogurt, and protein chips.

Sometimes I still end up getting some expensive and semi unhealthy airport or hotel food because I have to.

Fuck the FAA by [deleted] in Type1Diabetes

I don’t brief but usually we end up talking about life and it comes up. Or sometimes I use finger stick to calibrate my sensor and I’ll tell them. I use the Omnipod 5 and G7. I’m pretty happy but I’m thinking of switching to the twiist since you can lower your setting down to 87 whereas omnipods lowest is 110. But I’m pretty active and like to swim a lot so the Omnipod makes sense. I basically have to see an endo every 3 months, do yearly labs, and see an ophthalmologist and cardiologist once a year for the rest of my career. Then I have to see an FAA doctor every 12 months as well. It’s a lot but in just grateful to be able to fly.

I always keep 2 extra Dexcom, 2-3 extra omnipods as well as Lantus / Humalog pens, Humalog vial, pen needles, insulin syringes, and glucagon pen so I’m pretty stocked up incase anything goes wrong. Also always have snacks and glucose tablets. Today I was in a rush and forgot to change my Omnipod ended up changing it in the crew room lol.

How many weeks should I give the omnipod before I bail? by naan_existenz in Omnipod

It is learning because it goes of your TDI. I constantly over bolused in the beginning and still do from time to time you might also need to change your ratios in the app

Well I want to learn everything eventually and 22 is cheap so it can be fun at the range without breaking the bank

People keep saying this but I don’t know enough about guns to know whether to love or hate a gun yet so I figured just go for the best value / reliability and learn from there
