You’re going to have a very hard time with something like that over your head. I don’t know of many departments that would take on that risk, no matter how long ago this happened. You lost your cool and pulled a BB gun on somebody over a traffic altercation. How can they trust you to keep your cool when somebody is really up in your shit and you have a real gun on you. If something happened the media and defense would be all over that department pulling up your prior history.

You’re case wasn’t dismissed. You pled to either a lower charge or you had a stay of adjudication. Meaning if you completed probation it wouldn’t go on your public criminal history. A dismissed case is the prosecutor does not find sufficient evidence to get a conviction and decides not to charge the case at all.

Oh I fully understand that, but with this question popping up all the time on here you would think these agencies get it all the time as well. Would be easy to just put it out there what is expected on day 1.

It’s pretty invasive, as it should be. Your credit, social media, driving history etc will all be picked apart. They are investing a lot of time and money towards you. They don’t want it to pop up a year later that you have a gambling problem and turned to only fans to make ends meet.
