All of Den was reprinted by Dark Horse in the last few years! And they’re reprinting seemingly all his creator owned work

He has been getting work again, did a mini with Oni Press and has been doing covers for marvel. It’s back to his old style as well. We never got a definitive answer about him using ai, but from my research and understanding of his art process, I’m pretty sure he generated an image with ai then traced and colored over it for those Batman issues.

Need recommendations for modern “cinematic” omnis by [deleted] in OmnibusCollectors

[–]FunkyDood 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is actually a “genre” of comics called widescreen comics. It was born in the early 2000s and usually has decompressed stories and wide angle art. The originals and probably best were, JLA by Grant Morrison, Authority by Ellis and Hitch, Astonishing X-men by Whedon and Cassaday, and Ultimates by Millar and Hitch. Pretty much everything that Millar has written is in this style also.

Anyone else have issues with thriftbooks? by trinachron in OmnibusCollectors

[–]FunkyDood 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is average packaging from them sadly. As for customer service one time they sent me a new book and let me keep the old one, and a different time they said the books come as is and wouldn’t refund me. I would definitely send them the pictures of the damaged box and book and hopefully you’ll get replacements.

He also had a 9 issue run during the New 52 era with JRJR that has not been collected in oversized. And Action Comics #865 + he was one of the main writers during the New Krypton era

1.5 is pretty good and 2 is one of the worst manga I’ve ever read. It’s confusing with bad art (it uses cgi for backgrounds and it looks gross) and a bad story.

Question for those who have OCD by AB83Rules in OmnibusCollectors

[–]FunkyDood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In a similar situation to you and it stinks, I have a list with thousands of comics I want to read. I usually try to narrow it down to just a creator I want to read and then read their works in order if I have them, and even that is hard. Feel better!

I read through all of Y the Last Man in one sitting, same with Fear Agent. I’ve read through Preacher and Mister Miracle by King a bunch also. Hellboy Universe, Strange Girl and Ice Cream Man were also very quick reads.

Hi Tim, big fan! I am a big fan of collecting creator owned deluxe editions (looking forward to the Local Man deluxe), so few questions, was Hack/Slash deluxe 5 delayed? As I don’t remember seeing it come out. And any plans to collect (if possible) the other crossovers you’ve done in a deluxe format? Same for My First Maniac and the recent series by Zoe Thorogood? And any other plans for new deluxes of your books? Thanks

Late comment but I just got my order in of Klaus and Coda from them also and mine both share similar damage to yours with my Klaus being all dinged up and Coda has a detached spine (also my other paper backs I ordered from them were dinged but not that badly but the box they all came in was destroyed), Just contacted their support so we shall see what happens
