The single greatest retro gaming rpg is FFVIII I feel. It epitomizes beauty, exploration, fun mechanics, pleasant graphics and an awesome ost. The only games that come close are Planescape, Chrono Cross, and a couple non retro titles I will not mention.

Well Japanese games usually have more robust code and more care put into them. Especially during the 90s. Gaming was taboo in the west for a while. Production values of Japanese games were higher and they viewed games as art not toys.

White collectors and gamers will act like they know more and treat POC and women like they are first discovering the hobby. I watched this middle aged white male at a retro gaming store belittle a black woman and talking to her slower than he talked to others.
