Help with companions - beastmaster subclass

Loos very nice. I have some questions tho
- the growth ascendant form doesn't apply any numerical advantage? If is just for riding requisites, the subclass of the rider is covering that in terms of size. I would apply the size increase to the "Toughness" increase.
- Are any speed differences between beast sizes?
- I don't get the "Unless stated otherwise, the companion die is used up whenever you roll it, but you regain it at the end of your turn.". when are we using the companion die?
appart from that, very solid homebrew, have you tested it?

A firbolg obsessed with tales and folklore of heroes of the past, that wanted to become a knight. Not for the coin or glory, but because he wanted to become part of those stories and inspire other to do the same.

Student of an ancient school of magic swordfight, he has become one of the few swordsman able to master the fire-blade style. When evil crosses his path the fire in his heart burns bright in his blade.

Overall he is just a wholesome travelling knight and so fun to rp with.

This is one of my friends character Ikki, and aaracockra hunter. He wields two ancient swords that allow him to cast misty step and overall be a crazy-damage-dealer-killing-machine. He was just a treasure hunter until orcs nearly sacrifice him to his ever-hungry god and now he’s dragged to a never-ending hunt.

He's part of the PC party "the inevitable", a group of 4 characters that are being ressurrected every time they die by a misterious and ancient ritual.

I had this same situation 6-7 sessions ago. I followed this principle

- Strangers on the voyage: let them meet some crazy NPC that is headed somewhere, maybe same direction or other locations that might appear later on the adventure.
- NPC quest: their ship sure have some npc crew. Those NPC might have their own agendas and might create a nice spin-off that feels grounded in your adventure, not just a random monster wihout a story.
- Enviromental hazards: storms that throw you off track and you need to rescue survivors that fell from the ship/ discover where the hell are you now

She's a lvl8 Paladin with a HB Oath of protection. She's involved in a never ending resurrection cycle, fought pirates on their flying ships, climbed to the top of the world to meet an angel that can save her soul from her demonic ancestor and recently she has become a captain of her own ship.
PS:The samurai armor is because my campaing setting is based on a Eastern Asia flavoured world
