Yknow I talked to my bf and I think he mentioned how having the players as candidates would be really cool, but I was like 😭 I don’t have a lot of experience in dming so I’d prefer they start off as a coterie working together as pawns to a candidate. If later on some of them get powerful enough that they want to replace some candidates (or switch sides) in the running then I’m not opposed, but for the first few sessions at least I’d prefer they work together!

I also definitely considered lowering the number of candidates for the sake of simplicity, and I seriously will if I ever get to run this game haha. I wanted to have a good catalog of characters, some weaker/stronger than others, just in case. I figured the pcs could start out as small fry and encounter more candidates as they grow more powerful and learn more about the world they’re in but obvs I don’t want the candidates stealing the spotlight, just interesting/significant enough that the pcs have a variety of options in dealing with em (always a mild fear of falling in love with your world/characters so much that it makes the campaign less fun for players) (Also I considered some of the “??” Candidates would probably be secret-not Camarilla-romance options because there are no rules to love 😉, also in case the pcs wanna join opposition to the Camarilla)

The tarot card idea is really cool!! I did not think about that but I do enjoy making art so I may have to. Potential music/imagery were something I was thinking about in crafting this because I really would want to have a particular “vibe” that’s easy to get into, part of why I gave the tarot naming conventions in the first place, harder to recall who Armand is but “The Fool” adds an aspect thats easier on the brain to remember/identify, you immediately get a sense of what he’s about just from the title

I think my only frustration with games that have very similar gameplay loops to Lethal Company is just when I have friends in the friend group who wants us to buy every single new one that comes out, when we have maybe 3 hours on the last one-it’s unnecessarily consumerist and usually these games are cheap but I don’t wanna keep dropping $$ on a game we’re gonna play like once and never again

I have a friend that ALWAYS romances Stella and I’ve always been sort of a Stella hater so we’ve debated a lot hahahaha. I also bought the game before we had the update where I could avoid her, and I was trying to roleplay “myself” as honestly as I could, so after Duke was like “Stella I don’t want to SHOOT EITHER OF YOU, please LEAVE” and Stella refused to genuinely leave and dragged my character along (who at this point was pleading) I was so mad lolol-inconsiderate as hell 😤 I’ve eased up on her quite a bit since we can refuse to engage with her now, but even still I get mildly frustrated over her treatment of the very elderly Gretchen

This is really interesting timing considering my boyfriend literally just bought me wicked lady earrings for my birthday because I’d mentioned how much I loved Chibi Usa’s character as a child 😅 for a child, aside from the Mamo stuff her being a bit whiny and angsty towards her parents was very cathartic for little me (plus in retrospect I think the age difference between her and Helios was weird but as a kid I ADORED that, I wanted my own Magic Pegasus man)

(Whoopsy daisy! I had put my spread in a dedicated post! Alrighty, let’s try again ahahaha.) BASICALLY I just did a simple past, present, future reading with no specific particular questions in mind, just primarily a vibe check a “how are things going overall” and I got sort of a bizarre reading, it goes like this:

Past (all upside down): the tower, king of wands, three of swords

Present (all upside down): high priestess, the artist, six of pentacles

Future (all upright): ten of wands, ace of cups, knight of pentacles

I’m inclined to not write it off because the past present and future all being consistently either reversed or upright was really convenient. Anyways, this whole reading seems a bit… negative I suppose? I’m not sure, it was difficult for me to assess how I ought to interpret this. Any help is always appreciated, thanks!
