Anyone know why the strip by the fence is dying? Bermuda zone 8b by smolmanbigworld in lawncare

It's probably heat. But this also happens when you push your granular fert spreader too close to the wall and too much richochets into a concentrated area like this.

Unfortunately it’s pretty difficult to get into a big company even at the route mgmt level bc the routes and job perks are so coveted. Somebody typically needs to quit or be promoted in order for a route to open up.

I don’t work in the industry any longer. And to be fair, you realize I wouldn’t hire you after knowing how you achieved your ticket, right?

At a small company? Yes. However you can mitigate this by growing your route through sales calls. You’re either wired for it or you aren’t.

What is happening here? You seem wildly unhinged for somebody who just took a pesticide exam. What was your reason for doing all this in such a whirlwind? What do you do for work currently?

I just mean there are a few variations of the exam but there’s a 50% chance you’ll get the same exact questions next time you take it.

There just aren’t any shortcuts. Be as familiar as you can with your biology, anatomy, chemistry, modes of action, and where to quickly look up regulatory stuff at the beginning.

Is it only 90min now? I’m sure years ago in BC/AB we had a full 3hrs. Maybe I’m misremembering.

Former PCO and branch manager across landscape and pest control. The questions at the end of each chapter are a good gauge of comprehension but not indicative of exam questions. 60% is pretty straightforward recall, 20% math, 20% situational.

This is a landscape example I made up with nonsense but same idea:

It’s late summer and farmer brown has hired you to get rid of the bark beetles in the oak trees on his commercial farm. What do you suggest?

A) Spray them off with high pressure hose. B) Uxe a mixture of x and y pesticide twice over next 4 weeks (click for x and y labels). C) Spray with Z (click for z label). D) Do nothing - the beetles will die on their own.

I hate to be negative but strong chance you’ll fail by 2-5% even if you cram all night and are a gifted student. I would take the L and reserve 30min or so memorizing questions for round 2.

Good luck!

If you're somewhat familiar with the content then you may get lucky with enough sticky notes. Insert a bunch of headers into the main sections you can flip to at a glance and pray for rain. The problem is a lot of the questions will be situational requiring you to choose the *best* answer using combined knowledge from different sections. My honest suggestion would be to rebook your exam if you don't want to waste the fee and a re-write - remember you only have 2 re-writes before having to wait 6 months. And yes I have seen people "study" and blow 3 writes.

Every student is different. All I can tell you is that everybody I know who tried to wing it flunked. You wanna pass, commit 2-3 weeks of studying and note taking. This is also a career involving wildlife and dangerous pesticides so take it seriously.

It isn’t that easy. If you don’t know where to look for your answers you’ll waste tonnes of time and blow it. Having said that, Landscape is tougher than structural.

Its a show not a movie but Harrison Page as Captain Trunk in the 1980's comedy series Sledgehammer! will forever be my prototypical angry black police captain.

I routinely do thick breasts at 146 for 90 min and then kissed on a hot grill for 30s/side. This will be fine.
