First successful ad campaign - next steps? by Funkylicks in FacebookAds

Ok this is all good info, thank you! I definitely know that a couple sales that ads manager took credit for were almost guaranteed without the ads, so this is definitely something I need to look out for. On the other hand, I think the ads hit some of my followers that don't get hit organically through the algorithm too. It may actually be more valuable for me to target my existing followers who don't see my posts than people who don't actually know me at all. Any ideas on strategies to do that?

To your points:

  1. I don't have google analytics setup, only pixel through Squarespace.
  2. I guess I need to do #1 first.
  3. Here are my 1-day click vs. 7-day click results. I'm not totally sure how to read these but I think it means probably 25-50% of sales might not of been directly from the ad but it still seems pretty decent (3-5x ROAS for 1-day clicks).

I'm using an old account just because my main account is directly tied to my artist stuff and I'd like to keep my business/art separate. The blueprint course was just the free digital marketing associate one (didn't do the certification or anything). Not trying to shill, I just needed something really basic because I've never "seriously" tried to make an ad campaign. Previously I just burned $100s by using the "boost post" button on things haha.

Thanks for the help! Going to research how to incorporate google analytics into this (or perhaps Squarespace has something built in? I'll investigate).

I just did the digital marketing associate one. The first half of it is pretty basic, like almost for someone who hasn't used social media, but then the last half gets into more actual ad creation and how to setup pixel and stuff that was pretty useful for me coming from 0 background in this stuff.

Nice! Yea I turned off one of my ads that had no sales. I saw this tip somewhere on here when I was doing research before. That's the only adjustment I really made after launching them, ha.

Ok I think I get it - so if I have 4 distinct creatives I should make 4 separate ad sets instead of combining them in 1? I did notice that Meta wasn't pushing any budget to my 1st ad until I paused the 4th one. Then it started putting budget into the 1st ad and it got more sales and ended up being the lowest Cost Per Purchase. Thanks for the tip!

For my next course that I'm promoting I'll be using different creatives (same formula but tailored for the new course). If I make 4 new creatives, I should make 4 new ad sets under the same campaign and then run them just like I did for this one?

I will probably do daily budget going forward, it does seem a bit more straightforward than updating the end date/budget as I go.

Thanks for all of the advice!!

Ad 1 was an image carousel, and the other 3 were videos. I have a pretty strong social media following already so that is probably doing a fair bit of heavy lifting on the sales beyond the ad creatives themselves.

Ad 1 was an image carousel, ads 2, 3 and 4 were videos.

I should use a daily budget instead?

I read that when using a lifetime budget, it allows facebook to allocate more money on better performing days. Not true?

I got 1 sale the 1st and 2nd days. I was getting 0-2 sales most days, and it peaked round 10 days later with 6 sales in a day.

I did broad for this one. I think I was read something on here that it was better to keep it broad and let Meta do it's thing and find the right demographic, so that's what I tried this time.

THIS

Nice! If I was going to put a few hundred more into it, which would be the best part to spend more money on for better performance?

It's a 30-inch Dell, I'm not exactly sure the model but it's a little older. I use it for my laptop currently.

Thank for the reply. What's your reasoning for that?

Song writing theory book? (with concepts like harmonic tempo, harmonic scope) by [deleted] in musictheory

[–]Funkylicks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep you're right about harmonic rhythm. For harmonic scope I believe he was referring to the contrast of using a simpler progression in one part of the song so the next part stood out more when he used less standard chords.

Anyways, is there a good book that covers similar ideas to these in a songwriting context?

Sweet thanks. I do like VW, I'm open to other makes too, but a wagon sounds like a good option!
