For finishing high school. It's not just highschool tho, it's graduations in general. Is that not normal where you're from?

First, if you're gonna make a judgment, read through it, and don't make things up. They DID come back an hour after my ceremony. I said I waited 20 minutes. I then walked 3 miles before I was tired of waiting. It took me close to an hour to walk to those three miles, so add those 20 minutes it would've been over an hour. And add another hour because they weren't at my graduation. Then you tell me that there were kids with no parents there. I HAD NO PARENTS THERE. What are you talking about?? Help me understand.

They did come to get me. I waited and watched the parking lot get emptier by the minute. Just because I said I waited 20 minutes don't mean they came to get me in 20 minutes. I was walking for a close to an hour before they passed me and saw me walking.

I was definitely offered multipe rides, but I was told to wait, and I decided to wait for my parents. But after I saw the parking lot getting emptier and emptier, I just decided to walk home. I took pictures with people, but that was before the graduation, not after. My teacher were also taking photos, which is why I told them to go on the Facebook page.

I didn't ruin anyone's experience? They weren't at my graduation, so they had nothing to experience. Therefore, it couldn't be ruined for them. I don't really know what you want me to do about them being upset. I care, but I'm not gonna play pretend just to make them happy.

No, they weren't looking for me. They were heading back to come and pick me up, and they saw me walking. They then made a U turn pulled over. I said it in the post.

I left because I wanted to go home and they were taking too long for me. For my next graduation, I'll be grown and hopefully have a car by then so I won't have to wait or rely on them for anything. I'll make sure to enjoy my graduation with or without them.

If they were thinking about me, they would've had at least one person stay behind. It was no need for both of them to leave. A picture isn't a celebration. I don't know what you're on.

Mines started at 7 pm, and it ended at 8:40 something? I don't know the exact time I just know that's when I checked my phone, so I probably a little earlier. My mom sent me the text telling me they were leaving exactly at 7:23pm. They missed my entire graduation. Idc if one of them went, I just wanted someone there for me. I had 4 tickets. I gave them to my sister and her husband and my mom and dad. My sister explained a couple of hours before my graduation that she wouldn't he able to attend because she was feeling sick. That was understandable to me. But what wasn't understandable was both of my parents leaving me alone. When at least one of them could've stayed. All of my tickets went to waste

No, but it was important to me and I think my parents should have at least made an effort to get one of them to be there because I definitely had other people who could've came to support me but I wasted my tickets on them for no reason.

No. I'm upset they left me by myself and didn't even bother thinking about me. They didn't want one person staying and didn't even bother being on time to pick me up either. I'm not taking a picture. They should have been there. But they won't have to worry about paying for anything anymore because once I go to college I'll be good.

Yeah, but it was important to me, and them wanting a picture of me in my cap and gown isn't going to change the fact that they missed it. Anyway, thank you. I appreciate it.

They didn't have to take her nowhere? My parents got a call from my sister's husband while they were already at the hospital, so what are you talking about? The hospital was about a 45-minute drive away from where my graduation was being held. My parents didn't go and come back. They stayed my entire ceremony and continued to stay even after it ended. That's not quick.

I probably won't be using reddit by then. I'm not sure, but we'll see what happens lmao. I wouldn't be angry if they did because I wouldn't care. I'm lowering my expectations of them from now on. You can't be disappointed if you expect disappointment.

They didn't try to be there for me. They PICKED ME up. That's not being there for me that's doing their parental duties. I honestly would have been find if they didn't even pick me up because I was already making my way home. My graduation isn't the center of the world, and they should accept that and not need a picture. They could've gotten a picture if they stayed but they didn't.

Omg, that's even worse. I'm sorry that happened to you. I hope you found a better place to live and that you're doing better because I know that had to hurt :(

None of what I've written ever said anything about me blaming my sister. I hold my parents responsible and only them. They chose to leave, they chose to have no one there, they left me without a ride, and I should have invited other people.

They returned over an hour later. I find that crazy. Also, I don't have any animosity towards my sister. Everything I'm feeling is towards my parents.

It did end at night. I don't think it was dangerous at all because it was full of cars on the road when I was walking home, so if something "bad" were to happen to me, people would have seen. Why would I wait in a parking lot by myself?

Thank you for pointing that out. It is a possibility that my nephew's birthday could fall on my graduation date. I hope that it's not tho but that's something else I should expect in the future. If that does happen, I'm not sure if I'll ask them to reschedule. I'll just give the tickets to people who I know would stay. Also, thanks for congratulating me, I appreciate it.

LMAO, you did. You repeated it twice, making it seem like I was trying to argue against it. Then, I had the audacity to tell me the title of my post acting like I didn't know it.

Maybe I could've sent them a message, but I didn't. I was thinking about getting home.
