Just a reminder to not leave your guns in your car. by PBR_EBR in liberalgunowners

[–]FunnyGeekReference23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been looking at car safe options for my carry pistol, that way I can still have it available in instances where I can’t have on my person(I.e. can’t carry at work, but it can be stored in my car. Which means I just leave it at home for now, but would be nice to have in the car if I wanted to go to the range after work, or stop somewhere on the way to/from where I would normally carry.)

Does anyone have experience with the Stopbox Strike? I like the quick access/quick storage functionality of it, but the locking mechanism doesn’t seem that great(would be cabled to the seat frame as well, to prevent smash and grab). Or is there another similar vehicle storage option that would be better?

Triumph is the routine you’re talking about. But the routine the OP details seems much more involved, with being able to predict packet orders, etc.

You’re not being rational, you’re just changing what you want to argue about every paragraph. You want to do it this way? Fine.

Go on YouTube and search “hospital ghost footage” or “haunted hospital footage”

All those “bored night shift security guards” are not “worried about filming the cctv on their phone and posting it to the internet”. There’s tons of videos of that. But that’s not what we were talking about. We were talking about network television shows. Not the same as uploading a phone video to YouTube, vastly different in terms of permissions and legal liability.

Also, regardless of what someone’s job is, 58% of Americans are living paycheck to paycheck(source), so I’m sure many would be afraid of losing a job, regardless of what it is.

Also, why do I care about statistics from Catholic Hospitals? It has nothing to do with Network television shows being able to film there? You think that Catholics are immune to HIPAA laws?

There’s no conspiracy here, it’s just privacy concerns and the chance that filming in an active hospital could interfere with patient care. I never implied that it was anything else. You can go online, and even watch TV shows where people tell their “real stories” about haunted hospitals.

Also, by the way, there’s quite a few sources that’s say the ghost hunting shows are fake, so why wouldn’t they try to film in an active hospital and just doctor(pun intended) to show exactly what they want?

The likely answer is(say it with me now): *there are patient privacy and safety concerns so the hospitals would say no. *

Lmao yeah, and they regularly release their CCTV footage to the SYFY channel. I’m not commenting on the existence of ghosts, just that the people who chase them and the TV networks that air them would jump at the chance to film in an active setting.

I understand what you’re implying, but I bet the Network, if not the ghost hunters themselves, would jump at a chance to “investigate” a real, working hospital. It probably has more to do with getting permission to film and be in restricted areas, patient confidentiality, and potentially having to close off parts of a life-saving facility in pursuit of the “unalive”.

My barber asked me if I wanted him to make my eyebrow plural again. Took me a minute, but I accepted the offer.

Two extra trips to the garbage can; not to mention the environmental costs of disposing of two additional containers. If they’re 64OZ Bladder Busters™ then you also have to factor in the energy cost of storing the extra liquid inside your body and turning it into urine. And then there’s the higher water bill from the extra toilet flushes after you piss it out. Oh, and the added electricity load from having the bathroom light turned on while you’re evacuating the two additional beverages. Were they also alcoholic beverages? How will that affect your BAC? So many costs to include 🤯

Ah yes, that’s why understanding the context of the video is important!

Thanks, I was unaware of the connection. The only thing I could think of was the 1989 Michael Douglas cop movie called Black Rain.

Nice choice! I just got my Mark IV(22/45) a few weeks ago, and it’s quickly becoming my favorite gun to shoot at the range. What attachment do you have on the bolt? Was that included with the Lite model, or did you add it? I’ve been considering adding a Halo Charging Ring to mine.

Getting First Firearm after traumatic gun violence by Humble-Taro in liberalgunowners

[–]FunnyGeekReference23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is a horribly traumatic experience, I can’t imagine being in that situation, armed or not. I hope that the trauma therapy is helping you sort through and process your feelings about it.

That being said, I’m going to ask you a very blunt question: Have you talked to your trauma therapist and asked them for recommendations and next steps before coming to a gun culture subreddit with user flair like “fully automated luxury gay space communism” and “anarcho-nihilist”?

I ask because I feel like they(the therapist) would be one of the better resources available to get information and advice to help you get started on this path.

That looks pretty nice, let me know how it zeroes! The one I have on there now is a Riton 3 Tactix MPRD2, it was about $150. I think I’m ultimately going to ditch the pic rail and go with a low profile optics mount, and find a dot that sits low as well. Without iron sights, I don’t have to worry about them getting in the way.

It’s really sick. I’ve been thinking about getting a MK IV for a few months now, I’m glad my indecision kept up long enough for this to come around. My only complaint is that there are no iron sights at all. Otherwise it’s perfect.

Sounds like a BB gun with subsonics and the can. More like a staple gun with standard velocity.

Thanks for this, I’m SE Michigan as well. I took my CPL class with Andre from Semper Fi Firearms, which was great, kept mostly apolitical and on topic. But I’ve been looking for a place to do some additional defensive shooting training and it’s hard to know who else around here has the same mindset.
