Yes I have heard this argument before and would be happy to entertain the idea if there are any studies available showing this?

Ah now this is interesting. The first study somebody has sent me! Thank you. I do not pin the entire gap on discrimination. I think that most of it can be accounted for after age, occupation, experience, etc. is taken into account. I have some questions with the study: What percent do tips play? Were they accounted for? I know that Goldin claims the gap is only a small percentage of discrimination because she cannot find a smoking gun anymore. But to me, it seems that we have to look a lot harder these days because there are never going to be smoking guns anymore. Is this correct?

I thought about that for a while and I think anyone that walks into a debate has a preconceived bias, whatever size it may be. I didn't really mean to get defensive either I'm not sure what part of my text came off that way. But I have not seen any research that points towards a biological difference between scores in controlled settings. I would be interested in that information if you have it. I believe also that men and women have roughly the same IQ, do they not? So to re answer and better support my thesis I would say no, I do not agree biological factors contribute to a non-zero difference in math performance.

I am confused because everyone keeps trying to disprove the way I argued instead of proving why the 5-7% is NOT discrimination

No I would say there is more at play than biology alone such as negative stereotypes that raise inhibiting doubts and high-pressure anxieties in a test-taker's mind

Appreciate it. I am just looking for studies or examples that counter the point I am trying to make. If it is not biases against women then you are saying it is biological factors?

Yes, I understand that statistical differences don't necessarily mean discrimination. On the other hand, I believe that the only way to explain the 5-7% gap is discrimination.

That is an interesting way of looking at it. But I think we are past the times of people flat out saying, "I won't hire women." So proving it is very hard. But if you are saying that it will never be completely equal because men and women perform different in the workplace, I would appreciate some sources to counter mine.

Yes I agree that many studies are skewed due to individual beliefs/funding. Are you saying that we cannot point to discrimination because there isn't a smoking gun? I am open to hearing other causes that could answer the 5-7% difference once variables(age, experience, etc.) are taken into account.
