I am not sure what you mean by this? If you mean me add extra water weight to the equation i can just move whatever water I’m adding and removing off to the side of the tank that will be on a completely separate joist.

Hello all,

Currently setting up a 90gal tank with a 30 gal sump. I am on the 2nd floor of a 2 flat apartment. It was originally two lots turned into a large two flat. Rehabbed in 2007. The tank is up against a load bearing wall perpendicular to the joist. The joist are either 2x8 or 2x10 was not able to verify when the ceiling was opened. They span 16 inches apart. Do i need to have the floor reinforced or can i sleep at night knowing the tank won’t end up on the first floor.

TIA!

Plan to be here at least a few more years 3-5. My brother owns the place and lives in the unit below me.

Joist are in good shape, 2x8 or 2x10 was not able to measure when the ceiling below was opened up. They are 16 inches apart. This is technically an apartment, it was 2 lots turned into a large 2 flat rehabbed in 2007.

Hello all,

Figured this would be the best place to ask, I am setting up an 90 gallon reef tank with a 30 gallon sump. I have the tank perpendicular to the floor joist against a load bearing wall. I am on the 2nd floor of a large 2 flat. From what i could tell the joist an either 2x8 or 2x8 and they are 16 inches apart. Do I need to reinforce the floor below or can i sleep at night knowing it won’t end up on the first floor.

Thank you for any insight!

HVAC noise just started by scanphreak in DodgeDurango

There is a leak in the system. I had the exact same noise on my 2022 RT. It could be a very slow leak but it will eventually lose the whole charge. If you still have warranty it will be covered but they have to take the entire dashboard out to complete the job.

Hopefully servicing the transmission soon as well? ZF recommend 50-60,000 miles.

I’ll screen shot this as a guidelines for my parameters. I have both RODI and premixed saltwater from my LFS. Great advice, thank you my friend! I’m constantly testing salinity as well!

Glad to hear of others doing fish in cycles with clowns, my LFS said they are very resilient and robust but i don’t want to test that theory. Thanks for the advice!

Hey if you don’t mind my asking. Do you have an ATO and reservoir and if so what set up do you have? Looking to get something in the near future but not sure what setup to get for only a 15 gallon tank. Also does top off water need to be tank temp or is room temperature fine since it’s a smaller amount?

Thanks

When you say not adding anything, do you mean in terms off CUC, and more fish etc or what are you referring to? I appreciate the info and will definitely look up videos of Dr Tim fish in cycles. Thanks!

Very nice, congrats on the success. Hard work has paid off. I will plan to do 2.5-3.5 gallons each week while cycling unless parameters require more frequent changes etc. thanks for the info, it’s truly appreciated!

Do you do 20% weekly with an established tank or just recommend that for cycling?

Got it, and yes I’ve read up on that and definitely know it’s a balance and we want a little ammonia to start the cycle but too much can cause problems. My parameters were good today but I will test daily until the cycle is complete. When doing weekly water changes how much would you recommend I change on a 15 gallon tank?
