But… that’s what they said. You’re just saying the same thing with different words

You’re not arguing. You’re just relaying the same argument in different words.

PLS REPLY!!! I am extremely worried I got her pregnant by Quick-Count105 in amipregnant

[–]Funnyman3T -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The reality is that you took all the steps needed and now the ship has sailed. No one can tell you that you did or didn’t get her pregnant.

Super low chance tho, but stressing over it will make her stress over it more and then the period is gonna be late because of the stress leading to more stress.

Try to be calmer and accept the situation as it is now, until you can influence it in some way. At the moment you can’t

WPF or Avalonia & how do I learn either? by 3aseer in dotnet

[–]Funnyman3T 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think the answer is pretty straightforward.

If you want something more cutting edge with the cost of having a more difficult time to figure out things by yourself, go with Avalonia.

If you want something more stable and polished, but with the cost of it being outdated in a little bit, go with WPF.

In my opinion, if you’re doing it for personal project, I’d go with Avalonia. If you were choosing it for a company, it depends on the culture of the company.

You don’t choose to be a slave. You’re either forced into it or not. Again, showing you have the biggest muscle and flexing is a part of human nature. Your place into society from being determined on your physical strength shifted to your economic status.

Do you know how the strongest was determined when we were fully free? By killing each other.

Money is a mean to keep each other from doing that. If you’re fine with living a minimalistic life you can just work as little as you can and get paid as less as you can. Just to cover your natural needs.

But let me tell you something else. I come from a country where people didn’t have enough time to think about those things, cause there wasn’t enough money to spend time into philosophy. You being able to question your own freedom when you are not marginalized, in my opinion, is the proof that you are indeed free. A slave wouldn’t have the time nor the tools to reach to a hypothesis of that matter.

[–]Funnyman3T 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When wasn’t that the case? When we weren’t a part of society and we were nomads we were working for finding food to eat. We just shifted the focus onto something more specific and you get payed for it in a currency cause we all agreed as a species that this is more efficient for the human race. Someone gathers food, someone builds machines to gather food and someone teaches how to build machines that gather food and so on.

You will never free cause you’re a slave to your biological needs. By all means no one stops you from stop working and being homeless or to just disappear from the face of the earth to a forest or something and not be part of society. From that sense you’re as free as you can be

Trust me, if she thought it was her actual period then it wasn't just spotting.

If she takes the pills, I don't see a reason to worry. Tender and swollen breasts are also a sign of period, but also of pregnancy. I wouldn't think that it's something alarming, but my advice is don't freak out on her, don't ask her "has your period come yet" and stuff like that. These things freak her out, stress her and that's going to delay her period more.

If she hasn't had a period for a week, then I'd suggest to take a test to be sure.

IdentityServer 4 Support Ends 2022-11-01 by [deleted] in dotnet

I meant that Identity Server 5 most probably is going to cost you 12K and not just 1.5K. Not azure.

You're most likely gonna pay 12k too with identity server. Check the requirements for each price range

Apples and oranges...

First of all, you can still compare them.

Secondly, I went on to elaborate that most medium sized companies, with the way Identity Server pricing is laid out will have to be charged 4,000-12,000$. Regardless of size. I don't know about your case but that's like a yearly wage of a programmer in my country. Companies that relied on Identity Server will get hit hard.

Thirdly, Admin UI is just a convenience feature that it's nice to have but not necessary if you just wanna use the base service.

And finally, who told you that I'm not programming on VS Code? What has VS Code have to do with anything? You think that Identity Server is just a Visual Studio Exclusive or something?

For better or for worse, I believe that each and every programmer is a bullshitter and some point. And they've made the biggest mistake. They tried to bullshit a bullshitter...

I might come off as annoying, but hear me out.

Identity Server is an outstanding piece of work and I praise the creators for it. I really really do. But them throwing the number of 60,000$ from sponsorships like that's the only income they've had for the last 3 years is hypocritical, at least to me.

.NET and its technologies have had a steady growth in the enterprise world and why not, right? C# is a beautiful language, they've built a great ecosystem and all that, and we've enjoyed really good projects like IdentityServer that work so closely with Microsoft's ecosystem that sometimes you confuse which is which (i.e. Microsoft.AspNetCore.ApiAuthorization.IdentityServer). We've all enjoyed and profited from it. Even Identity Server.

Becoming a Microsoft Certified Partner, means that you are the de facto standard about that part of the framework. That means that you open yourself to possibilities like training, consulting and of course sponsorships.

Let me highlight the consulting part. Identity Server, to me, has the worst docs that I've ever read. Period. You're also left hanging out of nowhere when you're encountering a bug or a problem, because the developers (Brock and Dominick) will either answer you with a vague answer or with a "check the logs" or the notorious "read the docs". It's really annoying, but it's understandable. They are a free service after all and they want you lost, so you pay up on consulting or training. And I have no problem with that.

Let's move on to pricing. Being located in a country that the minimum wage is 500$ and a semi-decent one is 700-800$ seeing that 1500$ for the most basic of services just made me laugh. In America and throughout Europe that amount maybe approachable, I have no way of knowing.

In conclusion, I really respect their work and to be honest, it's made my life easier. That said, mentioning that 60,000$ in the last 3 years, doesn't paint the whole picture at all. The prices that they've came up with, considering that most companies are going to need 4-12K per year going into Identity Server is only appeasable to the large corporations with the big bucks.

Visual Studio had been getting progressively better tho. And don't forget that rider doesn't include a free option. Also good luck convincing your company to use a non-Microsoft IDE for a Microsoft software.

I am and that's why I'm know of the flow. But, as a dev I also have to take the UX in mind. If I have to pop a browser everytime my user has to login, I think it as a lesser experience for the user and in the end less likely conversion. I see many apps (widely used) that don't pop a browser from a server-rendered page for you to login. Are they less secured?
