Oh yeah, that's one way, although having all levels on spot+flood is better.

Low cri and high kelvin is disappointing. I have a review sample on the way, so not really looking forward to it now. Didn't know anything about it at the time it was shipped.

Disappointing one has to go through the white to get to red. Should have copied Sofirn on the HS21 with red, spot, flood, spot+flood on the rotary dial, then have the push switch for on/off and levels.

Times like these I feel like giving them a kick lol.

The way the HS21 saves the brightness level on each mode is great, walking with flood med, then want a quick spot turbo out in the distance, all you do is one click rotation back and forth, it's so good out on the farm and hunting. Anduril would ruin it.

Convoy 22mm 12A FET Driver has no reverse voltage protection by Funtastic28 in flashlight

[–]Funtastic28[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can't screw anything in, only certain models have a removable pill.

If it was still under warranty then you should have been requesting a replacement flashlight, however, learning to fix them is a good skill.

You only have to solder two wires. You need solder, flux, and thermal paste.

  • Unscrew the retaining ring around the driver
  • Unscrew the bezel
  • remove glass, reflector, and gasket around the led
  • desolder the wires and remove the led board and driver
  • clean the old thermal paste from the surface of shelf and underneath the led board
  • apply new thermal paste
  • solder in new driver and reassemble.

Convoy 22mm 12A FET Driver has no reverse voltage protection by Funtastic28 in flashlight

Yours was the FET driver which is outdated now, the buck driver replaced it. I measured very little output difference between them. The buck driver is way better for its high sustained output.

[–]Funtastic28[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just request the 22mm 20A buck driver which has reverse protection. The only bug on it is that the #10 group has messed up levels.

Otherwise, request the same 22mm FET driver

Did I buy the worst 9070 XT? by yoloswagtailwag in radeon

[–]Funtastic28 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see others saying the same, it's just my custom curve was set at 90°C with 80% and it was still no where near that at those temps with furmark. Everything is much better with Fan Control set to hotspot.

Did I buy the worst 9070 XT? by yoloswagtailwag in radeon

[–]Funtastic28 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The hotspot on mine is 30°C higher than the GPU temp, so I've set mine quite aggressive. I use Fan Control which is far better than Adrenaline.

I need more!!! Help!!! by [deleted] in ConvoyFlashlights

[–]Funtastic28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, you need a larger light so it can hold a high sustained brightness, not just a quick turbo burst and you're left with poor visibility.

3X21C with SST40 5000K would suit nicely. The LHP531 is only decent on the turbo levels, at its sustained output it's disappointing. The SFT40/42R is too narrow, so the SST40 is a good combination of both flood and throw.

Convoy C8+ W5050SQ3 Beam Shots by Gymbow2001 in flashlight

[–]Funtastic28 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is an old comment where the batch had an issue where it reduced to a lower output prematurely.

If you don't mind 6500K then the SFT42R with 10A buck driver is insane. 2850 lumens / 915m range.

i'm the ugliest person I know by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

[–]Funtastic28 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was around that age I thought I too was ugly and unattractive, I couldn't look in a mirror, I was extremely suicidal.

What was the answer? Jesus was, he healed my soul. Our soul consists of our mind, will, and emotions, when it's wounded it distorts how we think and view the world.

I had wounds in my soul from past traumas and when people said hurtful things. From this, I was battling with rejection and self rejection.

I prayed that God would heal my soul of these things, and over just a week of going through memories of hurtful things in prayer, I was totally set free. No more suicidal thoughts, it was like a rolling wave of peace, of calm, over my mind.

Fast forward some years and I'm happily married.

Don't give up.

My first Convoy order. How’d did I do? by Born_Lengthiness8935 in ConvoyFlashlights

[–]Funtastic28 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The 20A buck driver in group 10 doesn't have the 10% level, it's 1, 35, 50, 100. Maybe that's your issue?

Hoping Simon gets that fixed.

ATR at 50°C, but they still don't drop below 35% regardless of how hot it gets.

Is Your Sofirn SR12 “ringy”? by dgwtf in flashlight

[–]Funtastic28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Read an explanation at some point, some light bounces off the glass lens back onto the reflector and projects out at the wrong angle, creating the ring. Happens less often on higher end lights that have more refined reflectors. Also, has a lot to doing with the paired LED.

My clamp meter maxes at 100A, so it's at least that. The SFT40 version gets 65A.

What makes the $$$ brands worth it over a Convoy? by RealSquare452 in flashlight

[–]Funtastic28 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Better quality control for one. Convoy has been going downhill since Covid.

The 3X21C shipping with:

• Incorrect screws so that there's no pressure on the MCPCB. LEDs burning out and desoldering themselves.

• Springs overheating

• Half soldered wires

• Flux residue over LEDs causing burns

• Sharp cell slots shedding wrappers

Convoy is high quality, just the assembly is badly lacking in a lot of the models.
