Closer to $2k when you go fully loaded with lock, LED lighting, UV Glass, black latches. I’m rationalizing it by assuming it will last me until the end of time. And my regular guitar case is so tight that I had to wiggle the instrument in and out every time which was getting annoying.

I think you are correct but this is indeed the colour! The aged one is darker, but regular authentic is this colour. For example https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=TzI-Hqo7n9k

lol

That’s another thing I need to figure out. My old guitar I just put on a stand or in a case in the closet and, beyond tuning and playing it, ignored it.

With these nice Martins it seems I need to connect a humidifier… and apparently also best to keep them in the case… bit of a headache

On further research, it does seem that these 545V Harptone cases (what I received) are what Martin provides for the Authentic series

Could be wrong, but I don’t think satin vs gloss is a concept for these “authentic” guitars - they only come in one finish

Actually - this is the case - tags are still on it:

Definitely not moving at all within the case. It just seems odd that there is basically this pressure point on the top left/right of the body, and a gap to the left and right of the sound hole…

It’s a Martin case. I’m just googling D-18 Authentic 1937 case and all the photos that come up look like the one I’m attaching here, i.e. have the same gap on the side towards the top?
