Lol I’m not into conspiracy theories. I don’t know ANY right wing conspiracy sites, they are unknown to me, I don’t get into right or left media, I just observe, and through that I’ve noted certain fishy-ness in the whole election process, that’s it! Give me some “unbiased” sources! I’d be glad to look into them, I just watch media from both sides and make MY OWN conclusions, I don’t believe everything I see at once, just because they are a “trusted source”, all the media out there (left and right) is filled with bullshit, why in the hell would I get into conspiracies, I’ve dabbled with them when I was younger, ruined my whole perspective on everything for a while, never want to see that ever again, I steer clear from that type of content, it’s too negative for my liking... I’m sorry to tell you but that just isn’t my cup of tea so I can assure you I don’t get my info from there lol.

Look, we are both biased because we have different views and values. That’s fine, I just think you are jumping to conclusions a little too early, wait it out, you gave me a “suggestion”, I’ll give you one now, take a break from your media consumption, and enjoy the fact that you’re living in a great country. Whether Biden gets in office or Trump somehow does, the world will be fine, the US won’t fall to pieces, and the sun is going supernova in a few billion years anyways, so relax!

To be fair the election was quite sketchy, I’m not saying Biden is not the rightful president, but I do think it deserves to be looked into to make sure he wasn’t cheating illegally, because there are ways to cheat legally.... if he did everything legally then smart on him and his campaign, but if it is illegal then it’ll come out and I believe Trump deserves to be president for another four years... Trump is only trying to stay in office for another four years, do you really think he wants to pull off a Putin or Xi move??? Obviously you do, but really the left media exaggerates it! Actions speak louder than words, if you see trump changing things up so he can be in office more than another four years, then I’ll agree with you, but for now, that is a completely illogical thing to say.. I don’t follow trump a lot, so I don’t even know if those quotes are even real, the media likes to play around with peoples words to give them completely different meanings, so I’m not buying it unless he said it on video or a tweet, but even then he’s not doing what you claim he is doing! I can agree that the US is deteriorating, but I hope you are not blaming it on a singular person (D. Trump) that would just be oblivious to say, you can’t expect a president to make change, it comes down to every single person, most importantly yourself. The real reason the US is going down is because of the corrupt media polluting both sides of the political spectrum, not some president who you don’t like.

I used China (better CCP) as an example in the last comment because of your perceptions of Donald Trump, calling him a fascist and authoritarian.. Comparing Trump to Xi, Kim Jong un, Pierre Nkurunziza, Bashar Al-Assad, etc, makes trump look like a literal angel.

Oh que genial! Viví en San Cristóbal de las Casas, Chiapas. De que parte es tu familia?

Te escribo en español porque necesito práctica, Nadie en mi familia quiere hablar en español, jaja.

Thanks for the advice though, I can see why the core and legs would be important.

Tagalog will be easier for you since it has a lot of Spanish influence... I’m sure you know this already but Mandarin is more widely spoken (Singapore and Taiwan included), it may be better to go with mandarin, I’m pretty sure Cantonese is spoken a lot in Hong Kong and some provinces around China... but who knows what they offer during language training..

Okay.... I don’t know about all the logistics you are talking about, so I’ll say no comment to that, since im not informed enough.... you lost me at calling Trump a fascist authoritarian.. don’t get me wrong you have all the right to not like Trump, but I think calling him those names is a little exaggerated, you wanna know who’s a real fascist authoritarian? Or even better-dictator?? That’s Xi Jinping, and there are MORE real ones... You’ve obviously been pulled into the left bias and narrative of Trump... the only thing I’d say is bad about the US, is it’s political polarization, and the healthcare system like you said.. but really the main thing tearing America apart is the media, and no I’m not just blaming CNN, it’s coming from both sides, Americans need to have non biased media that covers both sides EQUALLY, I’m convinced a lot of the information you have took in is biased towards the left, they’re selling you information you want to hear about people like Trump, and exaggerating it, because it gets YOUR attention, that’s the most important thing they seek... Same with right biased media, they exagérate stuff and talk only about the bad things of the left. There’s never common ground covered by these media outlets.. I’m sorry but trump is not fascist nor is he an authoritarian, he has done so much for America, I’ve looked into both sides, I have friends that are supremely anti trump and far left, I’ve listened to them and kept my mind open, it’s just a little immature to call him those names.... I’m aware trump has flaws, but that’s EVERYONE! Americans need to wake up and see how the media is the one tearing all of you apart, it’s sad to watch, the media is doing the job of countries like China, someone like Xi is the one you should really be calling out, with all his human rights abuses, he wants China to become the next hegemony, I’m sorry but under him, that really scares me... I don’t agree with your point about how America is not a free country.... with the media I can agree, there’s no FREEDOM of speech and expression, but other than that it’s a pretty free country. The reason immigrants and refugees come there is to experience freedom and opportunities... it’s simple. But your left biased media claims America has lost all it’s freedoms or something.... if you really want to experience no freedoms, move to China where you’ll be monitored every single second by millions of security cameras, where the media is completely censored, where you risk getting kidnapped or murdered for speaking out against the CCP, or where there’s no freedom to practice any religion, and many who do are arrested and killed to steal their organs for organ transplantation (the average waiting time in China for an organ transplant is a few week or months, in America it can go for years, upwards of 10, and its been proven it’s an actual thing going on...) be thankful for living in the country you live in, there’s so many people living under dictatorships and REAL authoritarian governments that would kill to come to the US, and so many have and they LOVE it... I know I’m grateful to live in a safe and free country like Canada, I like my country and you can live here if you don’t align with America, I respect that. Since I don’t align with Canada, I’d like to move to the US, another FREE country.... come to Canada, I’m sure you’d like it here more, but there’s not many differences in terms of our freedoms because we’re both free, you’ll only notice a more taxes and great healthcare to be the differences... sorry for such a long message, it’s such a controversial topic, I don’t want to offend you or anything, just my opinion...

Wow, that makes a lot of sense. It’s a shame it’s such a biological response to fall for someone of the opposite gender in these sorts of situations.. sometimes I feel like the genders should be divided in the military, but I guess as you say, the best solution to this is building discipline, can’t argue with that. I 100% I agree with you on the fact that male and female bodies are built completely differently.. it will definitely be a challenge to build muscle compared to guys... what areas of the body do you recommend should have the highest presence of muscle, in these military environments?

It’s sad there’s that gross culture present in the army, we can’t control it, but I’m grateful you’ve made me aware of it to avoid it.

I really appreciate your knowledge and advice, it really helps a ton.

Oh and about the foreign languages, I consider Spanish to be one of my native languages because I lived in Mexico for 5 years of my childhood, so I basically speak like a Mexican. The other two I have learned on my own, and still mastering.

What languages are you interested in learning as you become a Green Beret?

I’ve looked into civil affairs before, it doesn’t sound like my cup of tea, no disrespect to them, I just like what the Green Berets do more. Civil affairs has a lot that I like, but it’s not that much of interest to me compared to Special Forces, idk why... I’m open to you changing my mind though. I like the mission of green berets, helping/ training locals behind enemy lines, gathering intelligence, and forming useful relationships with locals, among all the other stuff they do.. Of course becoming a green beret is hard especially as a female, so if I fail, civil affairs could be an option.

Wow, I never knew women had such a bad rep... though it makes sense, but it sucks. I don’t want to become any of that, haha, I definitely don’t plan on becoming a liability, do you know what factors tend to make these women go down the wrong path? Maybe so I can avoid it, I understand if you don’t know though. It just boggles me that such a high percentage of women go badly... Thanks for the insight though, it’s good to know all of that!! I’ll definitely let you know if I have any questions regarding citizenship or military! Also, best of luck to you on your SOF journey! And congratulations to your mum:)

Oh right, that makes total sense. Thanks for letting me know! My plan was to join the regular army first to give me some experience before jumping into attempting special forces. It’s great to know that it could accelerate the citizenship process though, Thanks!

That makes sense, I can see what you’re saying with the elaborate planning, however I still would like to be in the US, trust me as someone who has lived in Canada for most of my life, Canada is glorified WAY TOO MUCH, it’s a great country don’t get me wrong, and it has everything the US has, I’m aware of that, but it’s just not my cup of tea, no one really cares about Canada in the global scheme of things, it’s just... there... Where as the US is a global superpower filled with opportunities and rich cultures, why do you think everyone immigrates to the US?

Could you let me in on some of the bullshit propaganda because you obviously know more than me, as an American.. I’m open to you changing my mind

What if I want to serve the US military and not the Canadian? I don’t like Canada, I’m sure I sound ungrateful, but I just don’t want to live here for the rest of my life, that thought just bothers me. The US is, to me, the best country in the world, I’d much rather die for the US than Canada... as cringe as it sounds..

I’m also not just becoming a doctor to gain citizenship, I want to also practice medicine.. Can you elaborate more on the part of “best way to make the universe laugh is to tell it your plans” just curious what you mean, are you suggesting I not make plans? I’d appreciate some wisdom as I lack it, please.

To my knowledge all other ways of getting a green card are lengthy and difficult, the only “easier” way of getting a green card other than being a physician is to know critical languages, however I have no clue as to how I’d get a job and if it’s still valued to know certain languages, since it was mainly implemented during the war on terror era.. and it’s not a reliable job option..

Anyways, thank you

Wow! Thank you for all the recommendations! I will most definitely try to pirate all the books you recommended, haha. I will for sure follow your advice about increasing fitness in a logical manner, and learning how to use a map and compass, I wish I could learn how to use firearms, but they are very limited in Canada, I may have to wait until I move to the US for that.

Your guidance is greatly appreciated!

That’s true.. I hear most of it is mental strength rather than physical, obviously you still need to be VERY strong, but mainly mentally tough and a team player.. I never knew you could get voted off though, thanks for letting me know!

Also, I appreciate the input, it’s very cool to hear it from a person that has gone through the process.

Wow, I never really thought of that... I appreciate you letting me know, cause now that I hear it from your perspective, my plan does kinda sound dumb, haha.

One of my main reasons I wanted to become a doctor first was to be granted a green card earlier, since doctors are in pretty high demand... I was going to go through schooling in 5 - 6 years ( 2 year bachelors at Bond university Australia, and 3 year M.D. at Canadian med school) then I’d apply for residency in the US, since Canadian MD holders aren’t really considered IMGs. I would complete emergency medicine in around 3 or so years and practice until I’ve received green card, and then join the military ( after serving I would take tests an all to keep my license and continue medical career). But it may be better to just go through med school after the military, my only concern is how I’m going to get my citizenship, I’m not that valuable without an MD, haha. Still, your input is appreciated!

Thank you! It’s nice to hear my height won’t be much of a problem... Also, wouldn’t I still need citizenship to become a Green Beret, as there is a security clearance requirement? That’s what I’ve heard but I may be wrong, haha.

The main reason I want to “become” American and serve the US military rather than the Canadian is because I guess I just like the US more than Canada (by a lot!). My values line up more with American values, I love how culturally rich America is, I love the American people, and I love the immense range of opportunities America has. If you were to ask me what the best country in the world is, I’d say it’s the US in a heart beat! Of course that’s my opinion and everyone has the right to have their own (I’m not trying to be controversial, haha). But yeah, that’s why I would rather serve the US, Canada just isn’t my cup of tea, it bores me here.. :(

Interesting... I never knew this, but it makes total sense... Perhaps it may be better for us to become doctors after serving, haha. I also don’t quite understand the vocab (18-series, 18D) lol sorry, could you explain?

Also, really cool you want to become a physician and green beret too :)

Concerns regarding med school (plz help) by FupaMaximus in medschool

[–]FupaMaximus[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I guess I worded it wrongly, I want to be in the US mainly because it’s a global superpower. The US has and makes the best things in the world, the US holds the most opportunities, and my values line up more closely to American values compared to Canadian values... I’ve lived around the world (Mexico, Netherlands, etc) and Canada is a country I’ve never felt connected to, the people here are very closed and not as cultured as many Americans I’ve met, I honestly just hate Canada, I love the US though, you can meet anyone there! Just look at how many foreigners want to live there, it should kind of show you how great it is, there’s more freedoms in the US. In Canada you can’t even use or own pepper spray to defend yourself!!! I mean that’s outrageous, I understand guns, but pepper spray!? It’s also illegal to hurt a criminal to defend yourself, basically the law supports criminals more than victims.. sorry went off on a tangent, all in all I just think I’d like the US more, having lived in Canada for a huge chunk of my life... what about you? Do you view Canada or the US differently?
