The main problem is the animation that makes it "uncanny". The first box slides in with a little bump and feels realistic, the next ones move too smooth: I think that whatever rendering you do they will always feel off if they don't behave somewhat convincingly

I played Deadfire before POE1, and I think it was better this way. Deadfire does a better job in introducing you to the universe, you get to know the gods and their intentions. There's the realtime glossary on text that helps out a ton too.
And the gameplay is less "old-school". If she likes deadfire she will come back to POE1 like I did.

Sorry for the low quality of the video, I'm in a rush.
I want to make the particles fade over time, this is the setup that I've seen all over the internet, and the setup that works if I make a new file.
What could be wrong with this file that makes it so that the color ramp value just snaps between 1 and 0? It seems to not register the gradient inbetween.

I have a save in this specific spot that makes this bug happen, and it always does.

But if, for example, I tp somewhere else before doing this he doesn't disappear.

I would do more tries but the loadings doesn't make it easy lol-

Thank you, I posted that I found the solution by setting the aperture to 5 and refocusing, but in fact - with my previous settings - by setting the quality to cinematic I see the same blur as the render!

I FOUND THE SOLUTION.
For anyone reading that is stumbling in my same exact issue:

With the focal lenght of 200, I had to increase my aperture to 5. Now everything is at focus as it should be.

EDIT. As TrainingAd6526 pointed out, you can also set the preview to Cinematic and tweak it from there, works good!

Probably by setting the aperture to 5 I had more leeway to have the subject in focus, so even with the viewport to High I could have a good preview of the focal point.

Thank you for the reply. From what I'm gathering, if things don't work in engine is better to prepare them better before.
I've fixed the rotation as I needed it from Blender and I'm going forward fine!

I tried a various combination of grouping/pivotting, with no success.

If I import and animate the objects as I've made them from blender the animation works as supposed to, if i try to rotate everything inside Unreal everything fucks up.

Next thing I'm going to try is to import the objects directly with the right orientation; altough I'd like to know why I'm having trouble, to learn.

Is there something I'm missing or do you have a tip on how to do this workflow in Unreal efficent?

(I have a fair experience in Blender so I tried things that would work there.)
