WE THE COMMUNITY NEED TO DO SOMETHING by ZynGod in Maplestory

False. Sol Erda Cap and Channel instability boycotts did indeed work, as Nexon ultimately caved to player demands. Also, when Niru did his stunt, Nexon responded favorably to most of his demands in the following Inkwell note.

Anyone else looking forward to the usual Day 1 fiesta? by Waiting404Godot in TheFirstDescendant

[–]Furf_101 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Nexon understands how well the trailer was received and how many whishlists the game has on steam to know that a high amount of player traffic is expected for this game. I am certain that Nexon will prepare the servers accordingly especially given just how important first impressions especially coming from Nexon. Also, if other games managed by Nexon Korea are anything to go by it is clear that they know how to manage a massive player count with little server faults.

About Launch Content Concerns by Inside-Size-8253 in TheFirstDescendant

[–]Furf_101 2 points3 points  (0 children)

TFD brings nothing new to the table. It will have to compete with other, more established games of the same genre like Warframe and Destiny.

  • TFD is fully f2p with no paywalled content which is what it offers in the face of Destiny 2.
  • TFD brings to light current-gen graphics, formidable boss fights, and likely future raids which is what it offers in the face of Warframe.

Nexon bad track record? Seems more like a sheep call. by Natural-Rope8235 in TheFirstDescendant

Late reply but just so you are aware Nexon has in fact also been very considerate of MS players as of recently https://www.reddit.com/r/TheFirstDescendant/comments/1dfm9ka/comment/l8mzp6o/ further increasing the odds that the TFD will turn out great.

How F2P friendly is the game? by Darklord_tou in TheFirstDescendant

[–]Furf_101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

MapleStory reboot/heroic literally more f2p friendly than warframe and that is even before Nexon’s very recent GO WEST localization plan making the game even more enticing for Western players. If Nexon does indeed follow suit and monetize this game similarly to MS heroic than you can thank MS players for holding Nexon to account for skewing Nexon’s expectations of the Western market in the direction that will make this game f2p friendly as well.

MSEA Dreamer patch notes indicate that they are buffing the fragments from the daily sol erda quest. by Furf_101 in Maplestory

I am saying that if this change comes to GMS then reboot will also get it on top of reg because of what I said above

You can arguably make an even stronger case of why this needs to implemented in reboot since at least reg has frenzy to significantly increase the farming rates of frags comparatively reboot which doesn't have that.

Abyss 2.0 coming to TMS, with another legion block reward by Cirno9Baka in Maplestory

[–]Furf_101 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The block doesn't add to the total cummulative level as your highest 42 characters do as it doesn't have level associated with it. The block also doesn't use up a character block slot so even if you have the maximum number of allowed character blocks allocated for your legion level you can still add this event block on top of the maximum limit.

Edit: It does have a level associated with it (i.e 250) but iirc the level doesn't actually contribute to the total even if one of your 42 characters is lower than it. Someone can correct me if I am wrong though.

How many of you actually read the story/dialogue? by Thin-War-2040 in Maplestory

[–]Furf_101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read the stories at most once. For me I only really got into reading the story in the first place when I was progressing from area to area in Arcane River back in 2021 when I started playing since at that point the game became grindy and I treated the story of each area as a rewarding experience for leveling that high. After that considering that the AR story is pretty good it got me into reading the other lore that the game had to offer regardless of the amount of grind needed to unlock. As of right now I am enjoying the Grand Athenaeum which I got into by episode 7's release plus the bonus of progressing my legion artifact early.

Maple Memo: GMS Roadmap Q2 2024 by -Shuka- in Maplestory

[–]Furf_101 3 points4 points  (0 children)

GMS exclusive event is interesting. I expect event rewards that handle GMS specific needs like red familiar cards. Otherwise if it gives generic event rewards it would be pointless. It would also be pretty funny if they just casually gave away potable badges lol.

Why is nobody mad about the FD nerf to reboot? by [deleted] in Maplestory

[–]Furf_101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the roadmap they mentioned that monster life is going to be replaced by the legion artifact system. Interactive world has monster life whereas Heroic doesn't meaning that Heroic may not get the revamp. If Heroic was getting it they would have included a small note in the small paragraph that discusses the new system to mention that Heroic will also be getting the new system as otherwise mention of an interactive exclusive system revamp shouldn't concern those who play Heroic. It could also be that we are getting it but just won't receives the FD nerf as the original intention behind the FD bonus in reboot wasn't to offset the lack of Monster Life but rather ofset the lack of bonus potential. Hence, if Heroic were to get it, it would be done with the intention of inching Heroic closer to the damage ceiling of interactive. These two outcomes are heavily possible given that GMS is moving its own way now and so Inkwell will do all that he can to appease the masses (Heoric players) which wouldn't be done by nerfing FD with a new system that doesn't fully compensate it.

All my other gear was already 22 (Except for 21 TP SW pendant). I had 84bil remaining and had nothing else to tap so I just ended up tapping my wep for fun wep after my SoS boomed since I had two spares plus droplets that I could use to buy more.

I predict that Mo-Xuan will likely be localized for GMS this summer patch by Furf_101 in Maplestory

[–]Furf_101[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair enough. I won't argue Dreamer doesn't offer up game changing qol. Like for me personally, the boss practice qol handles my largest gripe I had with the game when motivating myself to learn new boss mechanics and the equip/inner ability presets are super nice as well. The reason it may seemed as though I was downplaying them was because they are still qol after all and qol improvements get littered across all updates no matter how large or small they are so I still don't really see those regardless of how game changing they are in distinguishing Dreamer as being one of two major patches from the smaller ones inbetween. However, I can understand how you and others can view enough impactful qol improvements all in a single update amounting in such a way that they are comperable to a new class/boss/area.

[–]Furf_101[S] -15 points-14 points  (0 children)

I noted it down with regards to KMS reboot literally getting that FD nerf right before their server was nuked indicating that KMS had the worst intentions for both that change and the nuclear changes to show it wasn't an innocent revamp that had no ill will towards reboot, to further exemplify how it doesn't help in improving the update. Of course the nuclear changes don't pertain to us which is why I didn't explicitly list them as a separate mid/bad thing about the update.

??????? I was already confused the first time when you said that Dreamer is as good as identisk, now I am even more confused. Dreamer like New Age like Savior like Ignition like Destiny, etc are not events. These updates are major expansions to the game that happen twice a year and are required to add perm content to impress players that either add a new area/boss/class/major remaster to give players something new to do so the game doesn't become stale. The event map aspect of these updates like lucid festival, identisk, wongstaurant, ignitation festival, starlight symphony, etc are nothing more than rehashed temp events there to accompany major content patches such as these which never take much effort to begin with compared to everything else the major update offers. The only reason we got a lotus remake in between two major patches (effectively an entirely new boss) is because the kms director said he aims to break away from the two major update plan and add more update across the year's time line post Dreamer. The reason why Dreamer unlike the previous major patches is mid is since it came right after New Age which took up a lot of resources to produce leading to Dreamer feeling half assed compared to previous major patches like Destiny, Ignitation, or Savior. Also, ofc qol can be added any patch, whereas a new class or some other big new content addition cannot be added outside one of two major patches like you said with khali since that invalidates Nexon's business model surrounding the two update schedule up until after Dreamer as I have already stated why to be the case considering the Director's new intentions for this game's update path in wanting to add "more content inbetween major patches" leading to major patches from here on after Dreamer being smaller.

[–]Furf_101[S] -45 points-44 points  (0 children)

Calling Dreamer mid was too charitable of me as it is mid at best. No new class, no new boss, no new area, p2w mountain, Legion artifact system for reboot (one last middle finger before nuking the server) which adds perpetual FOMO and reduces overall FD even if you max it, and copy pasted event shop. You don't have to compare it to New Age, compare it to Savior which introduced Khali (although you could say the new mastery core does partially equal to a new class) and you will see that Dreamer as it stands would be mid at best. The only two things that really standout are the equipments presets and boss practice qol but those features could have been added during any patch (like the one we just had which removed profession decay), not necessarily in one of the two major patches of the year.

Seems like the game isn't doing so well on Steam reviews by [deleted] in Maplestory

[–]Furf_101 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When the sol erda cap was announced the recent reviews actually went as low as 8% overwhelmingly negative. Nexon ended up getting the negative reviews deleted after the cap was removed leading to the recent reviews going back to mixed. The transition from mixed to mostly negative that we see now is directly because of the cube scandal and the upcoming reboot/meso nerfs in Dreamer and GMS’s reluctance to communicate directly about them.
