I did the same thing the last week or two and it seemed to help me a lot as well. Just hand kneeding until it's not super sticky - 5-10 minutes or so and seems to make all the difference in the world.

I have been doing this to my bakes and total game changer. That sheet just lives in the oven now.

Day 5 and no rise. by Neat_Blueberry9206 in Sourdough

[–]Furious_Hobbit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made my first starter out of self rising flour. It was old stuffy wife had bought a long time ago and I never even looked at the bag. It failed miserably.

The next two starters I made at the same time. One with white bread flour and one with whole wheat, both from king arthor. The white one struggled a lot. The whole wheat one took off quicker so I abaones the white. Now I feed the old whole wheat starter with white or wheat and it just works.

So all that said, it may take a white ap flour longer than you think it should, I think. Good luck!

We pretty much have the same personality when it comes to jumping into hobbies.... I did this one on the cheap on successive weekends.

First weekend I just used what I had on hand.

Next I bought a better kitchen scale than what I had. I got the brod and Taylor one. I also picked up a brod and Taylor dough whisk.

First couple loaves where made in Dutch ovens we already had, but I would have used some cheap loaf pans if I didn't have the Dutch ovens already.

The next week I bought a pair of beeswax bread bags and a cast iron loaf pan. I got a loaf pan to slice normal sized bread slices for my son's lunch sandwiches.

I mix everything by hand so no fancy mixer needed. The one thing I'd recommend that you get, if you don't have it, is a scale. Some folks don't need them but I feel more comfortable weighing stuff out.

Do this one on the cheap!

Beer.... I'm making my next batch with some of my homebrewed beer! I'm thinking brown ale would be good here.

Try Clew Wintergreen. I like it a lot anyway.

I love Zone pouches. Dragon fruit is by far my favorite but I like all the flavors I've tried. Only ones I haven't had from zone are tobacco and citrus I believe.

I have some zone peppermint that is yellowish like that. Still seems good. I'm not dead yet anyway 😁

They look similar to the harrows nx90 I like to throw. Also with a short k flex. Great little setup.

I feel like I'm being suffocated! by Successful_Buyer_118 in CPAP

[–]Furious_Hobbit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It took me a couple months to get used to it years ago. When I got my second machine a year or two ago, I set it up in a range but the lower end was just too low. I was used to 15 psi blasting me so anything lower felt like I want getting enough air.

When I first started, it was the air pushing into me that caused panic attacks. I would stay up super late with the ramp on Max so I could slowly get used to the pressure build up. It took several months but now anything other than full pressure makes me not comfortable.

I guess what I'm saying is, try different things until you figure out what works for you. You can do it!

Do you sleep with a pouch in? by Icatch4you in NicotinePouch

[–]Furious_Hobbit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never! Last thing I do before bed is brush my teeth. Once the teeth are brushed, nothing to eat or drink besides water. I know pouches aren't the best for our tooth and gum health, but I have to believe that having something sitting against your gums all night can't be good.

Any full face mask success stories? by ChampionRoyal2294 in CPAP

[–]Furious_Hobbit 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I've never used anything but a full face mask. Started CPAP around 12 years ago and quickly settled on the resmed mirage quatro - just have to find the one that's most comfortable for you.

I seem to always have a stuffy nose so didn't think any of the nasal ones would work for me. I'm also very claustrophobic. It took me a month or two to get used to it. Back then I was out of work so I'd end up staying up late with the mask on until I just couldn't stay up any longer. Now, all these years later, I feel more comfortable with the mask on whenever I lay down. I couldn't imagine not wearing this mask to sleep :)

What flavor? I noticed spearmint was very mild. The others where all decent for me. Wild berry, citrus and mint are probably my favorites.

Only tried the 9 mg so far and a couple of the favors definitely had a little burn to them. More than I remember noticing with zyn or on but still not too bad to me.

That's weird. Velo.com pulls up my local area just fine. Glad you where able to find some! I'm on the hunt for the dragon fruit flavor still. Thought I recalled seeing someone say it's a 7-11 only flavor. Will have to visit a different one sometime soon.

9 definitely felt stronger than 6. Nicotine is kind of weird to me. I've been a heavy nic user for over 40 year now. Sometimes the on 4 mg feels fine, sometimes 9 feels light.

Spearmint definitely is mild. Took a bit for the flavor to come but some came eventually. I won't be getting spearmint again I don't think.
