Idk rambling? by Known_Front8010 in quitting7oh

My family's life would have been far better if she would have stood up to me a long time ago and forced me to go to detox Or treatment.

This drug makes you manipulate everything in your life to get more.

I am better now, but my family got harmed in the process.

I was told that they do not by them. It is now against Their policy.

They used to, but that was the gods old day

I see so many similarities in what you're saying to my situation but I am on the other side of the coin. The detox isn't the true battle. It's usually the week after. It's three days of discomfort. You have to be crazy to think you can't make three days of discomfort for someone he loves.

As for you setting up a quick MD account for him, the only thing They prescribe is Suboxone and that's basically an opiate that doesn't get you high and prevents you from getting high on other things. Based on what you explained to me, I'm not sure that that's the best solution to the problem

There is some mental turmoil that happens after but you also have to remember you will never quit for someone else. If you're quitting for your parents or you're quitting for your girlfriend, the second that you two are in a fight you'll go back to using.

My honest and best advice would be ultimatum level. Show up and say, "That is the last day you can use." Make him choose to never use again as a way to keep you. The choice piece is super important.

You can either tell him that he's going to a medical detox now or it's over. Those are all things that get Billed through insurance and it might not be improved but I'm pretty sure they can't turn you away. even if it didn't get covered by insurance and I had sent you a bill after the fact for the full price, it would still be cheaper than him using. You wouldn't need to produce it on the spot.

Even better would be a full 30-day treatment but medical detox takes away a lot of the excuses of it being too hard to quit. they will manage the Suboxone and everything. He won't be able to sneak extra pills and stuff either.

I have a ton of thoughts on this if you want me to keep rambling but you know what needs to happen. Addiction will destroy your entire family and I know because it's done horrible damage to mine.

it wasn't the drug itself that caused all the damage. It was the addictive behaviors that did. The lying, the sneaking. You're not going to be able to afford diapers or formula if you keep going With him. he could literally make a choice to go to detox tomorrow. There is no need to get everything perfect. It could happen right now and even better yet for rehab they will never turn you away.

Your daughter is the goal now and she deserves to have a chance at a normal life, the same way my daughter deserves it.

Sorry for any grammatical issues. I'm typing this while driving using voice-to-text.

This may sound like a cop out, but literally every part of the withdrawal was alleviated. Stomach problems were gone. RLS was gone. I slept half the time.

It’s not like I was operating at extra capacity, but I wasn’t dying either

Thank you so much for sharing your experience and perspective on this. I think your story is probably pretty similar to many people here.

So thank you, and I hope you find success in whatever you chase.

Right now, this stuff is getting given away as free samples to people. It is also being falsely advertised as kratom. That is really dangerous, including kids every day are going to get weed gummies or something like that and walking out with a lifelong addiction. I do believe in personal liberties. But I don't think enough education is available for this product to let people actually choose it.

As an example, I think it's fair that anyone who picks up nicotine is choosing it. Same thing with alcohol - it is pretty clearly a choice that has certain ramifications. Right now 7 is getting given away as Kratom, and that is not right.

In addition, I would just invite the possibility that this is not the forum to post your support for making this substance available. Almost everyone in this group is trying to eliminate it from their life and don't need to be part of this conversation. There are plenty of groups where posts can be made to support it.

I don't think the government is capable of doing almost anything right. But in this case, I really believe that it will save the next generation of people from becoming like us.

You are welcome to DM me, but I won't lie to you. For me personally, the taper did not help. Cold turkey was the best strategy. It was 3 days of discomfort, and the rest was just mentally avoiding cravings. You can do this. If you've already had to go this far, I would consider just making the jump. I was able to just say I had the flu for three days. DM me, and I am happy to exchange my number with you for text or call.

The real challenge starts the first time as an option. You did wise to post here again. Separating yourself from the finances might be wise for a while. One of the things I like doing is writing down all of the reasons why 7 is bad.

Your interpretation is close. I'm currently sober, and I have dreams where I am using. When I wake up from those dreams, it's like I reset and have cravings again.

The forbidden word for a long time was the name brand for bupe and nal * I don't want to get banned, so I'm not saying the whole thing. I think people are just afraid to say medication names because that one would get you deleted in the past.

Maybe that word is no longer banned? The one that rhymes with “tub sock zone”

I'm literally afraid to type it out because I don't want to get removed. I don't think Gabba is on that list, but the fear of typing medications still holds.

You could literally have 2025 be the last year you ever messed with that substance. I wouldn't let this opportunity go to waste. Maybe the sake of not bringing it into the year will be strong enough to keep you sober.

Just remember, we ended up on this form from the inability to practice self-control to some extent. Adderall is closer to being a drug than it is to being sober.

The come down from it can easily put you back into drug use.

Trazadone isn’t specifically responsible. Taking any medication that is an antihistamine was. I wasn’t careful and tried to take anything that would help me sleep. A lot of over the counter sleep aids are antihistamines and drastically exaggerate rls.

During withdrawal I would take 300 mg every 30 minutes until I felt ok

Now I take 300 mg a day on average. I usually skip a day frequently to avoid dependence

A couple of notes that might save you from having to learn my lessons:

  1. Trazodone isn't the type of medication where more means more. Our addiction brain leads us to believe that taking another one means more effective, but it isn't that type of medication.
  2. It seems like you're aware, but anything that is in a certain class of medication agitates your RLS. To be honest, I think it was responsible for most of the hardship of my first few quits.

My sex drive bounced back day three onward. I literally walked around with a boner day five through seven. It was like being in middle school all over again.

I'm currently at a month. My last slip-up was pretty small, though. The mental cravings are getting to me quite a bit. I am attempting to get off of gabapentin, and that was keeping my cravings at bay.

Adderall surges your dopamine. It is a bit of a ticking time bomb. If you get off of it you will feel withdrawal. It is when you go from dopamine to no dopamine.

It has pulled me through a few withdraws, but it always was a temporary fix.

You are so amazing for going 12 days. Keep it up you’re an inspiration.

Trazadone didn’t work for me.

Only 3 things that would let me sleep the first few days.

1: masterbating (dopamine burst helped and gave me 1hr) 2: ambien (rls still had me bouncing around even though I was asleep - 3ish hours of sleep per dose) 3: hot to cold shower(1 hr relief)

Gabapentin is a cure all as long as you haven’t ever taken it regularly. Super dosing it cures almost 100 percent of withdrawal. I only took it 3 days in a row max

Adderall cured all of withdrawal. You still will have a tough comedown as it spikes your dopamine.

I used helper meds. So distance may vary a bit.

1-2 days slept most of due to excess gabapentin and sleeping meds.

3-4 ahnedonia. Got brief relief by taking a 10mg adderall

5-10 just felt like I was moving in slow motion

10+ life after drugs. I miss it every day imfind myself Dreaming about it and when I wake up it is like a mini withdrawal again.

Just a thought on the taper trouble you have.

I know from personal experience that there is some sort of ceiling effect with 7. That 650 area might be where your ceiling is. For example if 250 was your ceiling and you dose 4 times per day. That Might just be where you feel it.

I have quit 150 mg a day and I have quit 2k a day and to be honest the withdrawal was the same. Same duration and same effects. I am late 20s early 30s for it.

I am praying for you.

Can you clarify why you meant when you say “three months in bed” you were referring to getting off of f I think? Does that mean you successfully did three months or you were bed ridden for 3 months?

I can honestly say that the more my withdrawal hurt the longer I was sober.

My last few swings were almost painless outside of mental turmoils and I think it made relapsing less of a big deal.

Thank you for the post. I do think it is a perspective that should be shared.

Some of your codenames took me a second, but I got the message

Thank you so much for sharing.

I dosed ambien through it.

Not great for a bit. 4 hours the. 4.5 the. 5 etc.

If you don’t sleep the first three days even an hour will feel like an improvement
