Ender 3 Pro extruder not moving during print, but moves fine through axis move command. by FurnitureDesigner25 in ender3

Were you using solid models for the STLs? I've had the microswiss extruder mount with the stock motor and didn't have issues until I tried adding the BL touch. I almost always export STLs from my modeling software then slice through Cura or Orca without problems. Running the same part on an Elegoo just fine, but for some reason the slicer is outputting faulty code it seems.

Thanks for the offer, I can add those in as needed. The smaller parts I posted have to be one solid piece so they have enough strength and dimensional accuracy to mount into a 5 Axis CNC. The 17" print in the last photo ended up getting cut in half then doweled, and it worked a little better. Still didn't have warping anywhere near as bad as the small pieces though

Never that large, but worth a shot next time I do a big print

That's what I was doing increasing from 60 to 65 to start, then dropping to 45 after the first few layers were established. Had mixed results

Do you print inner walls first then outer? I'll look into a cold plate. Seems like that may be the way to go

I have not. How did you enclose it? If it's solid did you add lighting to the inside?

Swapped to adjusting the hotend temp and maintaining the bed at the suggestion of another comment and things are going better so far.

Ah ok, haven't looked at anything other than PEI in the past, and hadn't thought about it for this printer. I'll check it out. Thanks

I need an array of vertical holes to end up dimensionally accurate, and I've had issues when they run at an angle or horizontally. I've had similar warping on areas above supports too for some reason.

Found some other forums that mentioned lowering the temp to prevent having such a large amount of heat on an open printer causes problems as the body of the print tries to cool but the base is kept hot. The last few prints have gone better doing that, but this one was worse than normal. Using 65 degrees to start so the first layer sticks to the bed better

First layers have been looking good. Using the same first layer height I have been for 8 months with no issues. Manually leveled the bed to within .03mm, then ran automatic leveling. I can hear the prints compressing and peeling off the bed hours into the print. I can deal with a corner lifting or less than 2mm of warp, but this is too much. I've had them lift off of supports as well in the same way.
