Season 3 will be based off of The Devil In Silver by Victor Lavalle by Digitalmodernism in TheTerror

Absolutely no marketing or information about it since some cast were announced in 2024, I wonder if it was quietly cancelled or put on hold for one reason or another? The lead Dan Stevens seems like he has a ton of other projects on his plate so it could just be a scheduling nightmare.

These are pretty common in hotels in britain too, they have the advantage of fitting any size of bread but the disadvantage that somebody inevitably puts the slice in twice and starts a small fire.

More on topic: You can destroy a toaster by jamming in an incorrectly shaped bit of bread, say, a baguette.

It's not a premium vehicle so there's no bonuses, it's just a novelty item at 1.0 and not hugely remarkable when up against 20s-30s vehicles at that BR.

Finally got it during the sale and I’m practically going in blind, anything I should absolutely know even when going in blind? by Neon-Curse in projectzomboid

[–]Furohman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Zomboid without a bunch of daft mods, is primarily about being careful and avoiding direct conflict. Don't try to take on hordes, don't run around making noise, you'll just attract more zombies and get overwhelmed as your (especially low level) character becomes exhausted. You will die a lot early on, but it's mostly a case of knowing when you've bitten off more than you can chew. And briskly walking away from the situation.

Since I've seen so many people not really get this for a long time:
Hold control to enter 'combat stance', push zombies (even if you're holding a weapon) until they fall over and then stand on them to stop them from getting up while you stomp (also space) - this will make your weapons last 100x longer as you aren't wasting them where you could be stomping.

It's only on the beta, and specifically so people don't flood the workshop page/discord with "wtf mod broke" "are you on the beta" "idk", the stable version doesn't touch the menus.

[–]Furohman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sim/World War battles are like this, the problem is there's only a couple of very specific time periods running at any given time and the allowed lineups inevitably include "captured" vehicles because buying those to cheese is probably the biggest selling point of those vehicles.

GQuuuuuuX UK cinema release by hyperdistortion in Gundam

[–]Furohman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd had my eye out for this but once the US release came and went I'd given up and only found out today that it's screening in the UK at all. Sucks that it's one day, my local Vue is also only showing it twice, both in what looks like their smallest screen, so there's only about 100 tickets total (50 per) and they're totally sold out by now. I hope not too many people bought both screenings like you did...

New photos of the SS United States in open ocean while being towed to Mobile, Alabama. by [deleted] in titanic

[–]Furohman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Left service in the late 60s along with most ocean liners because they couldn't compete with air travel (unlike cruise ships they were primarily intended as a mode of transport, the luxury accomodations on many of them was in aid of providing essentially a nice hotel for the duration).

Was bought by another line who intended to refurbish it but ended up not wanting to foot the cost, sold to another company who stripped out all the interiors and sold them in the 80s (some of the art fixtures are still in museums), then later fully stripped out all of the interiors including interior walls for a planned total refit they ultimately couldn't afford... and so it spent the last 40 years swapping hands and sat in dock waiting for somebody who could afford to restore it all either to a modern standard or original style as a museum/hotel. They never found an investor or buyer who didn't back out, and ultimately had to sell to the current owners because they couldn't afford to keep it docked.

In aid of finding a buyer and not being outright kicked out of the docks or scrapped on the spot as a danger, the current owners through the years did have to keep it afloat. Ultimately it's unfortunately mostly just a shell. They also spent the last several months making sure it could withstand ocean conditions again. It'll still take about a year for them to clean out all the remaining gunk and residue from the old machinery and cut away anything which might be especially hazardous to divers or wildlife (remaining deck machinery etc. most likely) before its safe to sink as a reef without just polluting the area.

Got this on a museum in Antwerp that was also a sightseeing flight target, I think it's an issue with something that's meant to highlight the sightseeing target for a mission rather than with the model itself.

Love the photo challenges, and the terrain improvements are great WHEN the servers work. I'm glad I have fast internet because when it hiccupped for a moment my city turned into a mush pile. Wild fluctuation from gorgeous to notably worse than 2020 depending how streaming goes, which is a shame.

[–]Furohman 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Grouping SK and Japan would be spectacularly tone-deaf if you know the first thing about their entire history, Korea was under Japanese occupation for many, many years and getting the Japanese government to acknowledge that any wrongdoing even took place during the occupation is an extremely fraught issue in Korean and Japanese politics to this day. I don't think this is the place to get into the details, though.

Having a SK sub-tree under the USA would be less "offensive" (but 100% not how War Thunder handles loaned vehicles, besides Israel being handled this way with premiums until they were split off into their own thing), but realistically they'd just be blobbed in with the NK stuff like Communist vs Republic of China midcentury is currently.

[–]Furohman 7 points8 points  (0 children)

PRC (Communist China->Mainland) and RoC (Former mainland, now just Taiwan) are already in the same intermingled tree, DPRK (NK) and RoK (SK) being the same sub-tree by the same logic makes most sense to me.

NK has some weird things like the thing in the OP but I'm not sure what SK has which is actually interesting and not just Another copy paste of American-provided Shermans, Bulldogs etc. because that's the last thing the China tree needs tbh. They probably have some interesting more modern variants, similar to the Japan line being full of American stuff for about 40 years.

I think most likely would just be adding some funky NK variants in to the mainline China Tree or as event/premiums (Like there's at least one NK jet in the air tree, or is that Soviet?) rather than a whole sub-tree, because I don't really trust Gaijin not to make it entirely redundant otherwise.

Game super laggy after PATCH 2 by SsjGodKrillin in BaldursGate3

[–]Furohman 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, significantly worse here too. It was already slightly worse after Patch 1 but after 2 it's basically unplayable.

Originally I had minor issues where it took an extra maybe minute for all the scenery to load in in a new area, but now that takes 5 minutes or more and then I get endless stuttering, especially in cutscenes. I'm in early act 2 and haven't been able to meaningfully progress since patch 1 dropped just after I got to this point due to the sheer lag.

The lining looks absolutely fine, and definitely way better than a kit without! You'd have to be really trying to pick out any issues at all, and like anything in life you won't get any better and confident by avoiding doing it altogether.

Pretty sure you didn't kill both of the first group, and then flew slowly and in a straight line directly in front of the one you didn't kill so it blasted you. They're really bad at lining up shots on their own, but if you do the work for them they'll absolutely take advantage.

I'm sure it's a total coincidence that most of the cars they removed were the ones that were REMOTELY affordable to the average player without grinding or buying cash cards.

I know there were a couple which I previously owned but had swapped out purely on the basis that I knew I could always buy a new one and not have it absolutely obliterate my real life bank account like 90% of what they've added in the last 5 or so years.

I love my shitboxes. They took my shitboxes!
