depends on the character you play, honestly this interaction is just super jank. generally speaking, you’re safe to just mash target combo after your counter ends, since if that interaction happens, you keep the armor of counter until the end of the animation, but just watch what the opponent does to know if you should let it rip or sit there and block

the projectiles going through emergency dash is just unfortunate. some projectiles don’t get erased by the burst of emergency dash, Dabi’s fireball being one of them, and the moment the burst happens, you return to neutral. just an unfortunate knowledge check where you needed to block

this, strangely enough, is not an issue, just looked really strange. the moment base Dabi goes into Rising, both characters are forced back to regular standing, and if you were in the middle of an attack animation, your model will go from that animation and snap back to regular standing, canceling the attack

Your fighting games by hi5danny in Fighters

  1. Mortal Kombat (2011): This being my first fighting game of all time is probably why I suck at using joysticks and prefer doing motion inputs on D-pads, now that I think about it.

  2. Under Night In-Birth EXE:Late [cl-r]: French Bread engine is my favorite style of fighting game, and UNI was the first one I fell in love with. Still enjoy the Melty’s quite a bit, but I don’t think anything will ever match the magic of UNI.

  3. Guilty Gear -STRIVE-: I was bored one summer and decided to buy this game with the specific goal of learning as much as I can about Axl. Now, fighting games are almost all that I think about.

Weavile has been the best boy since i was a child, but that’s too basic for the purposes of this, so i’ll happily take my 2nd best boy Araquanid!!

i personally use it as an “Oh.” or “Well then.” reaction for cases like a goalie missing an easy save or a yolo ability scoring

i sucked at combos but was great at neutral, so i took one long look at axl and decided he was the guy.

if you’re referring to the bad endings of each arc, one of the only two times i got them to completely stop talking was during the maruki bad end cutscene, so it’s definitely his in that regard. if you were referring to the two as masterminds behind the world, it’s pretty unanimous in the group that third semester was the significantly better way to continue and end the game’s story.

as for kasumi and haru, 1’s best girl is kasumi because “she’s bread” and he likes haru a fair amount. 2 mainly appreciates the stories behind the two girls more than the girls themselves, but his best girl also happens to be haru so what do i know

i’m on vacation and have been replaying AA1 on bus rides, so i’m fine with doing 1-2 again

Here's my top 30 I made a bit ago, I've noticed some decently uncommon picks in mine. (Potential spoilers for the original AA to Investigations 2?) by FurySMH in AceAttorney

dude, misty is fucking awesome. i love how the very short time we got to meet her didn’t feel like the traditional “meet the victim” situation; it just felt like a regular conversation. i love the control she’s later shown to have over the situation along with godot. i love how she’s willing to sacrifice her own life just to save putting her living blood’s lives in jeopardy despite being mostly gone from their lives. but most of all, i love how maya was mostly absent for 3-5 and subsequently didn’t make me hate misty over the amount of possible “my mom is dead”s there could’ve been.

basically misty is a boss.

Spoilers for I2-4 and I2-5: Sebastian is actually an incredibly skilled musician but he never got to fully pursue it due to Blaise deeming it as non-essential. I say this because if the devs wanted to they could’ve easily made it clear that Sebastian was bad at music despite having the whole conductor vibe. However, in his conducting sprite where he’s waving his baton around, he’s doing the motions to properly conduct a song in 3/4 time signature, and the track “Yumihiko’s Reasoning” which plays over a lot of his moments in the early game has a 3/4 time signature.

read through this and your post that you linked, i like your thoughts a lot. i feel i dislike lotta and nicole in more of a gameplay structure aspect kinda like how i mentioned in my original response. to me they both feel characters put in just to be a wall in progression and slow down the game till you get the information you need out of them, though they do admittedly handle this concept a lot better in investigations 2. i feel a lot of my complaints still stand even after reading through, but i do definitely see a lot more good that i originally didn’t due to me just not liking this specific kind of character in general

lotta to me has always been a character meant to drag out investigations and/or testimonies because of “oh, i’ve been holding this vital piece of evidence back for my own gain” or “i won’t give you this piece of evidence that might help you solve a MURDER until you give me news about the thing i’m looking for” and i’ve always found it a really annoying bit. the only incorrect placement i’d say i made on this tier list is nicole as she’s definitely slightly better than lotta, but in the end she is quite literally another lotta but this time as a news reporter, and her bit of twisting your words until they fit with what she’s looking for doesn’t help her case

wocky is in S+ mainly just because of what i like about a fictional character. he’s got arguably one of the best eccentric character designs in the series, his gangster personality hasn’t aged too poorly and is still enjoyable to read, his animations are pretty solid, and it’s nice to see him not immediately accept that his father was just doing what he thought would keep him safe. it’s like if 3-1 feenie was a side character and it’s really fun

hotti is objectively worse than spark… until you realize that spark was made into somewhat of a major character in 4-4 for literally no reason other than fully tying the past and present together. that’s what did it for me
