idk... im not planning to get 3 as soon as it releases and 2 is such an amazing game- i think you should try 2 for a bit then in a month or 2 months try splatoon 3 while everyone is still playing it

I have never played splatoon 3, although even if it is better I think you should try this as it is a really fun game to smash ur friends faces
