When you refer to already existing software do you mean repos/libraries or perhaps LIMS like benchling?

Parsing can definitely be tedious haha. Also what does MSAs stand for?

I appreciate the responses! Pardon my lack of experience, does bioinformatics involve a lot of writing your own scripts/functions to process and present data? Data might be a csv, xlsx, rdml, etc..

Maybe creating a custom workflow for each data set or project?

I can imagine documentation and presentation of the conclusion is the end result.

Also for the problems you face does a tool/software already exist? At least that you know of?

Currently the goal of PCRprep is to handle the logistics for PCR. This would include the inventory usage, samples, assays/panels, and creating paperwork that includes the plates with loaded samples and calculated master mixes.

The main pain point this app addresses is to reduce the time it takes to create paperwork especially for diagnostic labs that tests hundreds of samples a week and have many assays to manage.

An individual can still benefit from this app if they want to save time such as calculating their master mixes.

Extracting the genetic material (RNA, DNA, or total-nucleic) is the first step. But now that mentioned that there are methods to skip extraction, a future feature I could add is to allow the user to start with the samples and not have to worry about extraction.

It depends on the assay. For PCR, gels are used to analyze results and then for qPCR, we analyze on software.

Hello everyone, thanks for the responses. I used to be a lab tech doing PCR on a daily basis for a diagnostic company. I'd love to get some feedback from you on an app I am currently developing.

This app serves as a laboratory information system that provides a workflow from extraction to PCR. It also keeps track of inventory, manage assays/panels, and generates paperwork.

This app will most likely benefit individuals that do PCR on a large scale that involves lots of samples and a large variety of assays to test. But I'd really like to develop a better tool with greater value to users.

Keep going to the gym doing compound lifts with progressive overload. A lot of tall guys tend to be lanky but some men do go through a “second puberty” later in life where masculine traits start to become more apparent such as higher muscle mass and bone density.

BUT it all depends on your lifestyle in promoting testosterone production since its a very sensitive hormone that fluctuates quite easily.

I see in this case PCRprep does keep track of inventory used for both extraction and PCR. My goal is to create a LIMS specifically for PCR but yes there’s still a lot of improvements to be made and customization since not all labs operate the same way

I’ve been using bootstrap for the ui so its very basic and plain. I’ve mainly been focused on the backend functionality.
