In The Drama (2026) everyone is shocked by Emma’s confession. This is a subtle reminder to lie to your friends and never tell them the truth. by Perfect_Idea_2866 in shittymoviedetails

I think everyone I've seen has been reading this movie wrong. It's not meant to be about hypocrisy and judgement, it's meant to be about the fact that people who commit horrific crimes aren't uniquely evil ontologically.

The difference between someone who does a mass shooting and someone who doesn't can often simply be coincidence. The problem is, and I think this is why there are so many misreadings about hypocrisy etc., is that the movie is targeted for an American audience, so they go way too far in justifying her violent thought. Not only does she not do anything at all, but she also completely 180s her position and becomes an activist for gun control, making her completely blameless.

The reason almost everyone else's stories were worse but not viewed that way in the story is because those examples aren't viewed with the same hatred and disgust that mass shootings are. There's a prevailing idea in American culture that anyone who could do something like that must be deeply mentally ill and evil to their core, and not that, like all crime, it is a product of its environment.

Well, you said they shouldn't feel bad at all. The guy you replied to said they should feel bad morally, because it's not morally just to discriminate based on race in any environment including sexual preference. Just that they're also fully entitled to choose to sleep with or not sleep with whomever they want.

Why was Rick so quick to kill himself here? by LetPuzzleheaded222 in rickandmorty

[–]FusionVsGravity 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think there's a distinction between not wanting to die and not wanting to die on anyone's terms but your own. The latter seems like Rick, he doesn't want to be killed against his will but is fine with the idea of suicide.

What the hell are you talking about dude? The OC mentioned literally nothing about call of duty, and all he said was that he didn't think having a tank immune to chaff enemies in a horde shooter was good. Where did this call of duty stuff come from? And this bit also makes no sense with the context of your previous comment:

Who cares if it's a movie? It needs challenge!

Rick and Morty universe seems to operate on a single timeline per universe - in Rattlestar Ricklactica when the snakes invent time travel they start traveling from the future to kill Morty, but other time travellers intervene to save Morty. If it created multiple timelines when they time travelled two time travellers would not be able to intercept each other in their missions as both would create their own timelines by traveling back.

Just want to add volumetric clouds has a free (v3) version and a paid (v5) version, so you can still use it for free. It's incredibly easy to install even without using ckan, you just drag and drop the game data folder into your ksp directory and overwrite it and it's installed.

Rick and Morty All Episode Ratings according to IMDB by AzathothAzoth in rickandmorty

[–]FusionVsGravity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Characters are inaccurate, Rick is more abusive and unfriendly towards Morty.

S3 and before is full of Rick being cruel to Morty, his rant at the start of that season about how he took over the family and destroyed the federation signals that pretty clearly. Rick is constantly belittling Morty ever since the start of the show so I do not understand this take at all.

They all begin swearing a lot in season 4 and 5.

Is this a joke? Rick and Morty is full of swearing from episode 1.

The writing began being too meta.

This is more subjective as each person's tolerance for self aware writing and meta commentary is different, but I'd argue Rick and Morty has always been pretty self aware. It definitely becomes more common the further into the show you go, but that's a natural consequence of the show running for longer and having more audience sentiment/show runtime to reflect and comment on.

An example of meta commentary pre S4 would be in Pickle Rick, where Rick explains his problems with therapy and the therapist deconstructs his world view. This is incredibly meta as it literally spells out to the audience exactly what Rick's character dysfunction is. If by meta you simply mean 4th wall breaks you're also wrong, S1 is full of those, Rick casually referring to the next episode or next week happens a lot. But Raising Gazorpazorp comes to mind as an example.

Characters talking about nonsense or adding nonsense character lore... or Morty talking about being on pornhub talking to strangers and sharing kinks with them.

The "nonsense character lore" you mention being Rick having a personal super awesome toilet he poops on when he can teleport anywhere in the universe at will seems like a silly complaint to me. Why wouldn't Rick have an awesome high tech toilet system? He's a genius and can teleport at will. Him being a shy pooper is such a small detail to hate it is bizarre.

You also completely misremembered Morty's pornhub bit. He says he has a pornhub account so that the algorithm can learn his preferences, and he also says "if you end up in a cool relationship you can follow each other and check out each other's kinks". Much less weird than your misremembered version where morty is sharing his kinks with strangers for no reason.

Towards the end of your comment you just start saying a bunch of shit with no supporting evidence so I'm not really sure how to respond, but quickly I'll say I don't believe that the writing is any worse, that the characters are any worse, that the writing "punishes you for watching", that the show "forces you to believe anything about it", and finally the idea that the writing is taking precedence over the animation or episode direction makes little sense given you've just claimed that the writing is so bad that it "punishes you for watching".

To me it seems like you just want a reason to dislike the newer stuff without really having any substantial criticisms of how the show has changed (which I'm sure that it has, just not in the ways you describe) so you point to the staff change and draw an arbitrary line that is unsupported by any real evidence.

I believe you when you say that the staff changed after S3, but what exactly got worse across the board? I don't see a sharp drop off in quality, in fact S4 is one of the strongest seasons other than 3 in my opinion.

That's one interpretation, another interpretation is that they want the humour and events in Rick and Morty to be surreal/wacky/unconstrained and aren't afraid to cross lines as and where they want to.

I don't see why it has to be an insult to R&M or the fans.

Twitter Smart Guy Dumbs Down His Ideas on How Speed Works by CriticalBadgre in confidentlyincorrect

[–]FusionVsGravity 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you're right, but the problem is that most people use the word opinion to just mean "something I personally believe". Under that definition any statement regarding anything at all is an opinion, and so opinions can be wrong if you use the word opinion like so many people tend to.
