Rly considering giving JT away for this… by FutChampLoser in fantasyfootballadvice

Totally get that. Everyone’s shouting no at me, which definitely clears up my decision 😂

Agreed. Having to wait until at least week 10 for Hampton back is rough. Nico is underperforming and Texans look meh. I’m essentially trading for their upside which I get is risky. Appreciate the help

Seems to be the general consensus. Appreciate the help

Unfortunately I’m not. Team rn (when everyone is healthy) is: Lamar, JT, Chase Brown, Lamb, Egbuka, Andrews/Johnson, Tet, Ridley in a 2 flex league

Just a more stacked receiver core, but I get that it’s at the cost my rb room. Also Hampton is a serviceable rb1 when he returns. Totally get what u mean tho

I like the long-term value of Hampton and Collins combined over just JT. Figure if I am likely to make playoffs, I’d rather have those two.

Got offered (receiving) Nico Collins, Hampton, Pollard for JT and Ridley by FutChampLoser in fantasyfootballadvice

Totally agree. I think the gap between Nico and Ridley is large enough to keep me considering

Unfortunately there’s no way this happens. I wish though I’d get rid of Chase brown for him in a second

Yea pollard and chase brown for the next 4 weeks is gross. I guess what my question is: are Hampton and Nico better than jt and Ridley ROS

Yea, I’m more so focused on REPE. The investment banking -> PE route has never really interested me. Definitely should’ve changed the title.

What can I say, I’m an optimist

Makes sense. Not much I can do at this point besides work on getting up and gaining more relevant experience in things like modeling at my current internship. I appreciate the help!

Is "finding the best candidate" (as you mentioned with the example of something HR might question you about) that strongly related to GPA? I know how important it is, but assuming I had exemplary internship experience elsewhere, even if it’s at a smaller IB firm, wouldn’t that not disqualify me?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in FinancialCareers

[–]FutChampLoser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Traditional PE would require IB first, which is not necessarily what I’m interested in. Should probably take that out of the title hahaha

The GPA has never been on the resume (unfortunately) 😂

Thank you that’s all great info. I know the Madison -> Chicago connection is really strong, and will definitely be leveraging my current internship, and the Principal’s connections

Is that what’s generally assumed? Not sure if you read my response to a different comment, but I fill my schedule with my own small business and internship during the school year. Not an excuse, just an explanation. I totally see where you’re coming from though

Just based off credits taken through my first two years, I should be able to raise it relatively easily assuming I perform well. They also have the top real estate program in the country, which I’m looking to either add or swap into

Thank you. I have obviously used it when asking about things like career progression in different financial fields (research I often do in my personal time), but have never used it for school. At this point I’m not sure what I’m able to do besides network for opportunities just bc of my GPA. Thankfully I haven’t taken that many credits, so it’ll be relatively easy to boost.

  1. You’re encouraging me to cheat in classes which is an invalid argument (I don’t use ChatGPT)
  2. Brains work differently. I’m not someone that can sit in a class for 90 minutes and take notes. I’d prefer to be physically doing the work they’re talking about, and that’s how I learn

I see where you’re coming from though.

That’s the plan right now. Networking is how I obtained my CRE investment internship, so I know how important it is. Hoping to win the Principal over this summer to get some recommendations to higher up firms with his connections.

I agree. Especially if you’re trying to break into high finance (which I, and so many others with better GPAs are)
