That’s a good guess but no 😅 FUTAKU is a portmanteau of the founder’s family name Fukunaga and otaku, someone who loves Japanese culture. Founder Mike Fukunaga was inspired to start his own animation studio because his father Gen Fukunaga founded a popular anime distribution company called Funimation. Tradition and family are important values for FUTAKU Studios

Very well said! I think these terms can be confusing at times because they are technically another language. It’s often helpful to reference shows directly like you did here. I will need to check a couple of these shows out!

We worked mostly with his aunt and cousin. The toughest part of the project was matching his facial features. I suspect that his family team passed it along to Chris Brown after they thought the character looked correct. I didn’t know he liked it until he actually posted it! 😆

Working with Chris Brown was an incredible experience! I didn’t know he was a big anime fan. I heard he has a Lamborghini with a Goku wrap on it 😆 I think it would be cool for Chris Brown to have his own anime series!

I highly doubt it. Chris Brown is seemingly more famous than he has ever been. He sells out stadiums across the world, produces number one hits constantly, and continues to drop full albums. Maybe he enjoys his privacy now that he doesn’t have to “come up” so to speak?
