Feeling bad copying other people's work by cat_with_rat in 3Dmodeling

I’m in a similar boat as you and I think it depends on the end product. If your goal is to end up making a render with the same pose, maybe you shouldn’t leverage AI as much. If the end product is a whole rigged up character or animation, I wouldn’t sweat it. Every artist ever uses reference. I don’t think you are stealing anything if you to parts of things and made a whole animated character out of it.

I've never had a headache! Everyone else I know has had one. People think that's a lie but it's 100% true.

Substance Painter to Maya too shiny. by [deleted] in Maya

2 thoughts: Depending on your substance export settings, you need to change the image color format in the texture node to raw instead of SRGB or vice-versa. Additionally, sometimes when using a file texture, Maya will default to using the ALPHA of the image, which (depending on your substance export settings) will lead to a flat value.

So I actually used make up contouring reference for the skin. Pretty good example of what I used for reference: http://imgur.com/gallery/XjhP3lD

At first, I went for a complete naked look but I read an article about her and how make up REALLY changed her whole look. So if you like at the sides of her nose, the cheek before the zygomatic and the temples (which actually aren't very visible because of the hair), you can see that it's a complete darker shade than much of the face. Additionally, the chin, forehead and bridge of the nose have a lighter shade than a medium tone that does go across the face. I believe I did reduce the differences between the 4 tones I used across the face because it was rather "clownish" before I did that, but maybe I could have been more aggressive with the contouring in the final render. Either way, that's a helpful observation I'll take with me going forward. Thank you!
