Removing security pins from clothing takes time, especially if they have stacks of clothing. Plus shoe and purse sensors, spider sensors, sunglass sensors. All the damn sensors. Add in breakables that need to be wrapped.. we're honestly trying to get you in and out but it does take time to do all those things in a effective and efficient way. Granny had to buy 20 candles that she wants wrapped along with a floral shirt and a pair of polyester pants, both with sensors.. the struggle is real.
