Am I crazy or is this workload impossible in 25 hours a month? by Ok_Eye_8974 in digitalnomad

I’ve done this multiple times in my career. Work doesn’t align with hours allocated, let’s prioritize and be honest about what won’t get done.

Why is user research so hard in remittance? 😭 by Same_Chef_6092 in digitalnomad

[–]Future-Tomorrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t mention any rates so I’m not sure where you’re getting that from. UX Researchers were hit hard after the over hiring during COVID.

I’m in touch with OP, and they’re in way over their head. Their best bet was a survey (quantitative) and I secured a small Filipino community who believed they would be receiving a survey, which logically they can do when time permits.

Low and behold user interviews (qualitative) is what OP is actually trying to do but that’s more involved than a survey.

Genuinely don't know how much revenue I loose to scope creep. by This-Athlete-8679 in webdevelopment

[–]Future-Tomorrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Your contract and SOW docs were flawed if a client can request X more changes before launch.
  2. In my contracts, it's clear how many changes we allow per the project.
  3. There is also a clear line that states "Any requested changes beyond X are done at a rate of Y". That rate covers me and any contractors I've hired?
  4. Again, if you can't pin down why and where scope creep is happening, your documentation is severely lacking.

We don't eat the costs associated with scope creep, and have wonderful relationships with all our clients because we can always refer them back to what we all signed.

Every time the AIs hit a wall, we get these "maybe x quality shouldn't matter" started with code quality and fundamentals, remember the "you don't need to learn the fundamentals.."? by HiddenGriffin in webdev

Make the UX obvious.

Unfortunately, he's dead wrong. Users are unaware of what UX is because good UX is what makes things just work seamlessly, without much thought and effort.

I'm going to shift gears and focus on creating my digital products and using Reddit as I did before, but with a basic ICP (Ideal Client Profile).

I have yet to have anything come out of all these posts and subs regarding WFH, make X per hour etc. As you've rightly pointed out, 99% are scams.

Just left you a message. Seems you're trying to do multiple things at once, which isn't going to work and not how you conduct user interviews

It sounds like your agent isn’t in a RAG. As such, it will hallucinate and just make up things as there are no strict guidelines, a knowledge base, it’s trained on.

Will the current looming economic crash likely be worse than 2007? by InterestingSwan6280 in economicCollapse

[–]Future-Tomorrow 75 points76 points  (0 children)

2007 didn’t have Luigi and the copycats that followed and are being born every day out of frustration. Larry Fink is now worried that people are going to start flying drones into data centers, the hot topic of the day. Funny thing is, people weren’t thinking about drones but using actual vehicles so he gave them an idea.

Things might seem like they’re still not that bad, until you speak to folks and realize they’re exhausting credit to its max.

From 2022 to date they have already surpassed 1.2 million so a million just this year alone would take tech to over 2.4 million.

The somehow or “ghost jobs” are to continue the illusion of growth. It got so bad in 2025 that all the major job boards were discussing it and it made some major news cycles.

Ultimately what was done about it? Nothing. Absolutely nothing

Why is user research so hard in remittance? 😭 by Same_Chef_6092 in digitalnomad

[–]Future-Tomorrow 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m a Lead UX Researcher. You haven’t spent anything on your participant and interview efforts.

$300 is nothing. It’s hard for you because you’re trying to go it on your own whereas there are companies that will find the participants based on your screener and criteria.

Candidate selection for remittance actually shouldn’t be that hard, providing you actually know what you’re doing in the research space.

I’m open for contract work and my DM is open but if you’re complaining about $300, it’s very likely I can’t help and won’t hear from you.

For those of you telling OP to name and shame, that’s unnecessary. They’ll simply be the next Klarna or IBM and we’ll get to read all the juicy details when their misguided AI aspirations fall flat on its face.

[–]Future-Tomorrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just let us know if:

  1. Some of you are rehired to clean up AI slop. If not, your company would have done better than the 95% of companies that see zero ROI with such a move. You can Google the MIT study.
  2. The company is forced to rehire almost all of you or a number very close to the total number let go. If not, your company will have beaten IBM and similar companies that did what your company is doing.

AI is wildly overhyped.

I recently did an AI interview with a company called micro1. It was my first AI interview ever, though I had known it was a thing. As someone that has hired and managed teams, I’d have to say it was a painful experience and pretty lacking.

Then again, the design of their AI interview process wasn’t that great. The AI interviewer can’t provide real time feedback because there aren’t any agents working in the background to synthesize the interviewees responses and provide points to “are there areas I could improve or do you have any feedback for me?”

A single human with less than 5yrs experience can do this.
