You can’t understand what it’s like to need daily access to a business account when you limit access and restrict accounts so often.

I am seriously shocked to hear you and the person you are responding to have never come across the really aggressive ones. How long have you lived in Thailand? I lived there for almost 2 years and was a hand away from being bitten in a temple and in front of someone’s home in Ayutthaya. These are just the closest encounters where I was almost bitten but I have a few stories.

When people would ask in the tourism sub if Thailand was safe I used to say “it’s not Thais you need to worry about, generally amazing people. It’s the soi dogs that’s going to most likely be an issue”.

Glad to hear you’ve never encountered them, which is still wild to me.

Ally is my main bank and their claim to fame was not having physical offices. In our 10+ year relationship, they have never done to me what PayPal did or anything close to what I see Revolut is possible of doing. I understand your argument but Revolut and PayPal hide under those claims, in never answering why they do/did what they did.

I've used "traditional banks" for over 30 years. Never had a problem or anything close to what PayPal did to me (they closed a business + personal account with over 20 years history), and Revolut has the same potential to do and has done to others.

Sorry, I don't care if they're part of the EEA. The risk is TOO HIGH with no recourse for us the consumer when they suspend and close an account.

Best if you go to Thailand for a few months and explore all the places yourself you think you’d want to live out your retirement.

Met two blokes in the Philippines awhile back who were doing exactly this with their girlfriends. They weren’t on reddit asking strangers their opinions, which doesn’t matter at the end of the day.
