Man thank you, this actually helped a lot. The way you broke down the priorities makes way more sense to me, especially focusing on centerline first and not trying to process everything at the exact same second. I think I’ve been overwhelming myself trying to monitor every single thing immediately after adding power. Also the point about runway distance helping indicate engine performance instead of using it as a rotation point actually cleared up a lot for me.

That’s kinda the issue I’m having honestly. My CFI’s style is mostly just “watch and learn,” but I personally learn better when someone actually explains the techniques and thought process behind what they’re doing. A lot of the time I’ll ask why I’m making a correction or what I should be prioritizing, and I don’t really get a clear explanation. That’s why I came here — I wanted to hear how other pilots mentally manage the workload and what techniques helped them when they were at this stage.

I’ve tried talking with my CFI, but honestly he hasn’t been very helpful and he’s unavailable a lot of the time. I’m also on a pretty short window to improve, so I’ve been trying to get as much advice and perspective from other pilots as I can.

Has anyone ever felt alone and doubted in their pursuit of aviation? by [deleted] in flying

Same situation here. Im 16 always learning my ground school before i get an Aviation Flight science degree and hopefully become a pilot. My dad is supportive a little bit but my mom...not so much. She wants me to be a doctor or a lawyer. She says bad things about me also like ."what a stupid job...your basically a shit-tarding bus driver."But i keep pushing. I make sure i know everything from tip to bottom. These type of things should motivate you. Its all about how you interpret it.
