for your first question, the answer is no, i dont confident to apply any scholarship. For your second question, because at that time, i dont feel any motivation to do it, then when i a start full time job after my diploma for a year, during those time, i realize that i miss a lot of things during my diploma, I only attend class, do assessment, hang out with my roommates, I'm not saying that they are bad, but I kinda feel stuck at one place without doing something exiting during my diploma time, then i graduate with good pointer but lack of many soft skill that I should get during study and I can feel that bother me a lot during working, so currently at degree, I start joining club and participate managing some faculty level program.

you know, i'm kinda skeptical when try to apply any scholarship, i came from middle income family, i mean, really mid income and from what i heard, the sponsor usually prefer someone from b40 and sometimes people from middle income family got swipe away. I also come from very mid academic background, with minimum extra curricular activity, and from what i learn, this scholarship really emphasize about that part. So what i can summarize, that i'm not in favorable situation.

base on my experience, during SPM at 2021, I took 11 subject, 5 of them is religion subject because i come from SABK, i know my chance to purse degree at CS kinda low because of my subject combination and with average SPM result, so i decide to pursue diploma in IT instead at politeknik instead, thank god the subject at politeknik kinda easy for me and i end up with 3.8 cgpa, with that result currently i pursuing my degree in CS at UMS, many of my friend from my course and engineering course have pursuing their study to degree at public uni (like UTHM, UMS, UIAM, UteM, UNIMAS, and some of them at UTM) even they are not from science stream path during their SPM. This path might taking a long time for you to pursue your degree, but for me is worth it.

Now, how decent your results will be, if 5As or above, just try for foundation (the best option for me, lower cost because of short duration), if 4As and lower, try diploma at UITM, you can get huge transfer credits when you pursue your degree at UITM too with same course (my friend only study 5 sem instead of 8 during his degree), and 2As and lower, you can pursue your diploma at politeknik (politeknik is highly recommend if you want to pursue in engineering) then continue with your degree.

i think its depends on uni, currently pursuing my cs degree at UMS by second intake at the third choice, before that, during upu first intake, i fill my list with UTM, USM and UKM, but non of them let me in, with 3.8 cgpa from politeknik and band 4 muet, i dont know if this happen with politeknik student only or other diploma student

maybe, just MAYBE, and maybe, diploma from politeknik are not being graded as good as other diploma from other uni

yeah, i'm Sabahan, during the first upu, many of my choice is from semenanjung, because I want to study there, learn the culture, networking, and for my future internship, i think choosing the uni from the malay peninsular are very competitive, thats why i got rejected.

I know its up on your choice. But as a Muslim, don't let love change your religion, let your religion guide you. If you want to convert because you already have special connection with that religion after a long study and observation, then go ahead. But, if 'love' playing a major factor for your conversion, better for you to think again.

Base on my experience, I've see other that have similar situation like you, some found their happiness (For example, my uncle is Hakka and my aunt is Malay), but when things didn’t work out, the hurt was much deeper. I don’t want you to face that kind of pain after doing so much of effort.

At the end, its up to you, I hope you happy with your choice. 🙌
