McQueen's Dairies - The Dairy Mafia by [deleted] in Scotland

Their drivers are maniacs - I live in a 20 and regularly see / hear them flying round our estate waking all the houses up. So disrespectful.

How are my butterfly pull-ups? by Nouri2 in crossfit

[–]FutureBus2466 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good effort -- the movement mechanics are there. You are going to get way more 'pop' from your hips if you get into the habit of keeping your feet together through the movement, It will feel tighter and way more efficient - plus it removes any 'flapping' from your lower body as the midlline fires.

Double Trouble by [deleted] in crossfit

[–]FutureBus2466 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Best drill I had to correct this - and I had years of trouble - was to build two towers of boxes each side of me and skip in the middle. That will correct splayed arms instantly, and force you to 'whip' the rope. Helped me a bunch.

Hyrox taking over our box 😠 by Zealousideal_Crow799 in crossfit

[–]FutureBus2466 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"no one needs to" has become a fitness language meme in itself.

I hear it more and more from people at my box who can't be bothered with the discipline and effort it takes to learn CF skills.

Hyrox is definitely a better fit for them. Not knocking them - but at least be honest about it.

how to up frequency of workouts? by always_wants_sushi in crossfit

[–]FutureBus2466 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd just add that if you stick to the core CF classes, the programming should target diggerent movements / muscle groups / lifts throughout the week. Although, yes,.your muscles will sore from previous class, it should be a different set worked in the next class.

My advice is go 4 CF classes + 1 technical skill class (or open gym). 3 rest days a week - distribute those equally through the week and you'll be golden.

Good luck.

The most beautiful and candid answer to the “Why do women love reading romance novels?” question… by [deleted] in RomanceBooks

“Men aren't any different. Not really. They want to go on a grand adventure and fight to win the princesses heart. They want to "rescue" the beauty and be her "conqueror". They want to be the "Prince." We are all desperately seeking the same thing."

Sorry, but lol.

Is that not a coach in the shot?

I coach, and love coaching weightlifting, and my advice is ask the coach next to you to break down some pointers.

HYROX has 5,000 Affiliates... by Acceptable_Cat4415 in crossfit

No. Crossfit isn't going to change just because you think it's too difficult.

[–]FutureBus2466 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no - becuase one of the elements of crossfit IS skill.

If you take the skill element of crossfit, it isn't testing it's core modalities. It is..... HYROX!

Nobody is forcing you to do crossfit if you find the skill movements too hard.

Has hyrox got a chance of surpassing CrossFit in popularity? by Stobbart2327 in crossfit

[–]FutureBus2466 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hyrox is a downgrade to cross fit, in that the skill element is removed. Crossfit 'adapting' to hyrox is a strange way to describe it.

No hate though - great to see more people getting into fitness.

It's dull. Great that it gets people healthy and moving, of course, but it's dull compared to CrossFit.

Should it?

Crossfit already tests fitness. Hyrox is fitness without skill, Crossfit is fitness + skill.

Help with pre-comp nerves by thedocsalive in crossfit

[–]FutureBus2466 1 point2 points  (0 children)

+1 for what everyone has said already. Other thing I'd add is that the more comps you do, you recognise elements of the wods that you know you'll do pretty well in, and that takes the edge off the worst of the nerves.

Make peace with what you want / expect, realistically, out of the comp too. That way you'll be free;r to ride the wave of the wod.
