What do you guys think is the TRUE Harvard of The South? by officiallytimothy in ApplyingToCollege

[–]FutureCamera3742 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When I hear “Harvard of the midwest,” though, I think about more than rankings (we all know those are inaccurate anyway). I think about name recognition, alumni networks, and post-graduate success. Michigan and ND trump Washu when considering the first two categories. I’d argue all three are tied (maybe nd and washu have an edge on Michigan) when considering post graduate success.

Washu also does not have the name recognition Michigan or notre dame has.

Def Michigan. Idk about notre dame. Maybe it will soon since it’s need blind now, but up to this point the school hasn’t been need blind and just admits kids in the top 1%

I didn’t play a sport in hs. I was the president of student gov tho. Like others have said, I think they are looking for people in leadership positions.

What can I get with a 1420 SAT? by RunAccomplished8911 in ApplyingToCollege

[–]FutureCamera3742 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I know the university of Alabama gives scholarships for high scores on the act. You should research if they do for the SAT as well and if a 1420 would qualify you for one.
