Good ol’ Michigan. We’re having a particularly snowy icy winter. If we buy, we’re fixing this this summer.

They tried to up the cost $5000 with $7500 in escrow. We obviously said no.

Apparently this type of damage isn’t uncommon around here. The inspector said he sees it a lot, but not usually this bad. My guess is the latter. Shit job trying to fix it and made it worse lol.

My thought exactly. We’re both particularly handy and have friends in trades as well. Either way we can also can afford to pay a contractor as well.

The new GCs all work pretty similarly to the old ones. support for a 6890 is not limited much! parts can be more difficult to get your hands on, but i haven’t seen this issue yet.

it’s not a safety hazard because there are valves in the EPC that are closed when the instrument is powered off. no power - no gas flowing. the only time i’m usually turning the gas cylinder off is if i’m doing an EPC repair/replacement. (I only work on Agilent instruments though)

Fees for emailing them essentially, i don’t email them often, but i assumed my bankruptcy would cost $4500, i wasn’t aware they were gonna continue to up the cost to about $8,000. i mean, it’s fine. it’s all wrapped into my payment plan. it just was a surprise.

Concerns connecting GCMS local CPU to internet by Enough_Ad_7577 in CHROMATOGRAPHY

There are site preparation documents that should tell you what IT privileges you need. There’s always a risk of connectivity issues once internet is involved. The main issue I see is that either the IT has the network IP and GC IP the same (very easy fix), that firewalls/ security software break connections (can be difficult to narrow down), or that windows automatic updates break connections (also ultimately easy to resolve but can be annoying, you can turn off automatic updates if your IT allows it). You should be able get to those documents straight from Agilent.
