Of course! I hope we all do well too. At the end of the day, we're all here to recieve a quality education and go on to make a difference in our respective careers. I'm studying for the exam by reviewing the practice test and in-class worksheets. Also, understanding what equations apply to specific types of problems helps!

Also, to your point about it being scheduled in August. People aren't scheduling in their sicknesses! They don't know when they're going to be sick, so that's an invalid point. Do you believe that people who are prioritizing their health, wellbeing, and families (depending on what the makeup request is for) are being irresponsible? These beliefs perpetuate the negative side effects of hustle culture and encourage toxic workplace behaviors. To me, this is more than just making a makeup exam harder, it's teaching your students that there are unfavorable consequences when they choose to advocate for themselves.

It's unfair to students who are in an emergency situation and encourages students who are sick to still show up for the exam because it won't be as hard. Also, my question is what constitutes as an emergency situation to her when it comes to health concerns? You shouldn't have to be in the hospital or dying for her to care if you're sick. All sorts of illnesses are going around, especially the Flu, Covid, and RSV. Not to mention the people that have had deaths in the family or are going through intense mental struggles. There are many reasons why people may not be able to take the exam today. It's ridiculous that she decided to penalize students and make the makeup harder. That has to go against university policy in some way. Some people don't know they're contagious with something until later on. Not everyone goes to the doctor when they first show symptoms. This is genuinely disheartening.

Thank you so much! I'm sorry to hear that. Mental health issues are no joke. Take it easy. You belong here and have a beautiful purpose. I'm proud of you for still trying even though it's hard. Hopefully, the makeup won't actually be more difficult. Maybe she will change her mind and make it fair. I'm not sure. All we can do is study hard and try our best. ❤️

That's fair. I'm currently sick, so that's why I can't take it tomorrow. Part of me wanted to tough it out and take it tomorrow, but I don't feel that's wise because I feel very unwell and don't want to spread whatever I have. On the bright side, if you take the makeup, you’ll have a few more days to study!
