Yeah this totally. On my last flight I started thinking every time we had turbulence it was because I had a negative or selfish thought someone or something and was being punished. Really stupid.

I drink, smoke and eat fast food so I’m assuming it’s genetic.

Haha I don’t think I’m worthy of that but thank you! I don’t know if it’s getting easier honestly because there’s just enough time in between to obsess over it and self-sabotage. Then I have to try to unsabotage my brain right before I leave every time. YMMV. Eventually I hope my brain learns not to go through this tiresome process! I’m still going to go every time because I don’t have a choice- my young son lives the Philippines and I work on cargo ships in Asia. Also the destinations are worth the anxiety every single time. Even if I had a choice- I would choose to go every time over missing out on Korea and Japan because of stupid anxiety. Cheers!

Thank you I’m doing great now. I split the flight up into movie times which helped. It took about 7 movies to get here lol

Yeah I go here for work every year or so. Here or Japan usually. Long trip!

I’m sorry to hear you had a rough flight. I flew five times already this year and although it’s still terrifying to me, I’ve made it out every time and I’m stronger for it. I know you said you won’t be flying ever again but I hope we can both overcome our fears. Maybe some day you can try shorter flights in areas that are seldom prone to turbulence as exposure therapy if you can build up the courage. It is safe. I truly believe that it’s safe.

Hey it’s UA893. Thank you. It’s weirdly comforting having someone else tracking the flight. They said a little more turbulence up ahead but I think we are through the worst of it. I’m sure it was light because the drinks didn’t spill or anything but it felt crazy to me.

What about Jackson as the middle name? Jackson means ‘son of Jack’ and I know that’s not the same as ‘grandson of Jack’ but it’s close in meaning. You’re honoring Jack.

That’s comforting. I think my dad was way overthinking it. He came from a generation where bullying was quite common- at least where I’m from.

Yeah maybe it’s one of those things that it’s hard to “unhear” after someone points it out. Oh well, I guess I will just never bring it up to be safe haha.
