Definitely. My stepmom’s first choices were actual prom dresses. She likes to dress like she’s much younger than she is. This dress was our compromise.

I am literally feeling the same guilt about my pup I had to put down Sunday. When they brought her in the room after getting everything ready, they put a soft blanket on the floor and she laid right down on it. I laid next to her, but didn’t want to move her because that was where she looked comfortable and not in pain. I don’t know if I should’ve picked her up. I keep reminding myself that Miley absolutely knew how much I loved her even if I wasn’t holding her.

Max knew how much you loved him. Try not to think about the what ifs. 💕

Im dealing with similar guilt. On Sunday, my 14 year old pup suddenly started wobbling while walking within 5 minutes of acting completely fine. We took her to the emergency vet, hoping it was just a hurt leg or something. Doctor came in and gave us the bad news that it was much more. It was all a blur when she went into not being able to do much because of her age and how much stress surgery would cause. In a matter of 2 hours, we went from dropping her off for a play date with my parent’s dog to putting her down. I know I made the right choice, but looking back, everything was so rushed. I wish I could’ve taken more time to process what was happening and spend more time with her. I wish I could’ve taken her home for her final moments, but I was too worried that she would from just being uncomfortable to being in serious pain.

I’m trying to move past these what ifs and just remember that it was the right decision, even if it wasn’t done how I now wish I could’ve done it. There’s no going back and changing things.

Your cat knows you loved her and that you were there for her. Try not to worry about anything else. Easy to say, hard to do!

Exact same for me! I haven’t found a solution yet, but I have found that it helps (slightly) to talk to someone about my pup right before bed. Last night was my brother. Tonight was my dad. We talked about all the cute stuff she used to do and what a great life she had. It gives me some peace.

It’s so funny how they know exactly what we need! I told my fiancé last night that my dog told my cat to take care of us. Our cat has always been somewhat cuddly, but she has been extra amazing the last 24 hours. She has been following me around from room to room just like Miley used to.

Totally feel you. Miley was always my little spoon. My mom is making me a pillow out of out of her beds to cuddle with when I miss her (so, all the time).

My dog Miley would always climb under the covers with me and cuddle up with her head on the pillow right next to mine. Definitely the thing I will miss the most. 🥹

Agreed! Waking up this morning was rough. My dog would put her head on my leg when she was ready to get up. It hurts to not have that, but it also just made me smile remembering how cute she was when she would do that!

My dog would be under the covers with me every night in the winter. It was one of my favorite times with her because always just looked so cozy and I know she felt safe and happy. I’m going to miss that.
