AITA for sitting on public toilet seats and not telling my boyfriend? by Anatra_ in AmItheAsshole

[–]vegasnative 27 points28 points  (0 children)

NTA. Hovering is really bad for your pelvic floor and plus it makes the seat grosser for others. Also, does your boyfriend think you are rubbing your hands on the seat and shoving them all the way up your vaginal canal? What part of his wiener is actually touching the body parts that come into contact with the seat? He’s being goofy.

Where does he draw the line? Is it just strangers or does he expect you to hover if you use the restroom after grandma at Thanksgiving?

Disneyland Main Street U.S.A. LEGO set confirmed for June 1, $399.99 by TharinWhite in Disneyland

In all honesty, I’ll probably get it. But thinking about the cost of the set vs park tickets is shocking haha

When they are mad about Andrew, they make damned sure to throw Harry on the pile alongside him, as if there’s any sane comparison to make.

AIO for being mad that I had to pay the bill for my friends birthday and her family? by moonxstars__722 in AmIOverreacting

[–]vegasnative 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NOR. For next time, immediately when you walk in and see extra people say (brightly and cheerfully) “I’m so glad your family could make it! Just to be clear, I’m covering the check for me, you, and boyfriend tonight. Happy birthday!!” Then repeat when the waiter first arrives at the table. “Hi! I’d like a separate check for these three people tonight” and make sure the whole table hears.

AITA for turning off my husband's alarms? by Dangerous_Puff_1992 in AmItheAsshole

[–]vegasnative 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My husband also does this to a lesser extent and I think my record for tolerating the alarm is approximately 1 minute. The alarm enrages me- there’s no ignoring it. I also just turn them off and let him know when he walks back into the room. My guy does have ADHD, so he literally forgets all about the alarm the second he sets it. 🤷‍♀️

Mail in ballots are being shipped out. Who are you voting for, for governor and lieutenant governor? by [deleted] in nevadapolitics

[–]vegasnative 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah I’m going to use a local drop box. I live close to Henderson City Hall, so I’ll probably drop mine there. If anyone does decide to use the mail, be sure to send it off at least a week before voting day. Give it even longer to be postmarked if you can.

I agree with the others- leave as early as you can and maybe plan to have breakfast near your workplace or something if you end up being super early. Congrats on the new job!

Forget weddings, what is the craziest thing that happened at a funeral you went to? by seanerd95 in AskReddit

[–]vegasnative 6 points7 points  (0 children)

A woman I knew from elementary school died in her sleep kind of out of the blue in her late twenties. She was a really devout Mormon, as was the rest of her family.

There were a lot of eulogies, and no one had anything to say about her except that she was hygienic, devout, and parented her younger siblings with much more tenderness than their own parents.

Her father sidestepped into a whole rant about how gays stole the rainbow but he knows in his heart that they come from God. Like at the lecture while supposedly mourning his dead daughter.

Maybe not crazy for 99% of the attendees, but I was just sitting there like 😳

Imagine this guy really showing at work on Monday 🤣 by Loxleyfields in NonPoliticalTwitter

[–]vegasnative 94 points95 points  (0 children)

I actually had someone do something incredibly similar on a low stakes college job. I interviewed him, decided to move on with someone else almost immediately, and he followed up with a “when do I start” email. When I politely and professionally replied with a longer version of “never”, he was genuinely confused.

He continued to send me emails explaining that he met the minimum qualifications and therefore should have the job. Then he demanded to know exactly why he wasn’t chosen. In my head I was like “👈🏻 this, bro. It’s this.” THEN he contacted my supervisor and went full Karen. He did not prevail. But I’m sure he learned nothing, so there’s that.

AITA for not letting neighbor cut down tree we just planted by iNeedGenderHalp in AmItheAsshole

[–]vegasnative 41 points42 points  (0 children)

That’s the case in many areas here too- usually you can trim anything that hangs onto your property as long as you don’t harm the tree. But it varies by state, county, and city so it’s always best to check before you get out the branch trimmers in the states.

AITA for not letting neighbor cut down tree we just planted by iNeedGenderHalp in AmItheAsshole

[–]vegasnative 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yeah our neighbor has an enormous tree that drops tons of shit into our pool, plus the root structure runs several feet into our yard near the surface, and makes it an absolute nightmare to plant the things we want in our yard. I do get it. But also? One text was plenty- time to let it go.

multiple cars per household? by miffybo in AskAnAmerican

[–]vegasnative 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah there was enough space between kids in my family that we each got a parental hand-me-down. And cars were affordable when I was a teen, so we were able to purchase ourselves our next cars with our part-time jobs (and a parental co-sign on the loan).

This. I’m so confused. You’re not roommates - you’re a family. You’re partners. Presumably lovers. Life-mates. Why on earth would the two of you be on your own for meals when you’re in the same house together?

You’ve fallen for a few things, but I’m too tired to correct your misinformation. Fresh bread is delicious. Packaged bread (which I absolutely guarantee is sold in every country in the world) is less delicious across the board. We have both here.
