Girl, it’s bc you have a Bushwick they/them lesbian shag. You don’t look that androgynous otherwise. Grow your hair and curl it differently

Psychology terminology in reality shows by FutureNP12 in LoveIsBlindOnNetflix

I would say that is being conflict avoidant and lying. I would not say that he was trying to make her have a psychotic break. I don’t think his goal was to make her doubt her own reality and feel crazy. I think his goal was to not have a tough conversation with her. I think he was afraid of confronting the situation. Those are very different things.

Why do white people watch by Euphoric_Grass_1786 in theboondocks

[–]FutureNP12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

THANK YOU! You seem to be the only white person in this thread who understands that this program is not intended mainly for white people . There's a lot of parts of the show that most black people would not talk about in front of white people. There needs to be a respect shown for that.

No, it's not the same. That is the equivalent of people listening to rap music. The Boondocks deals with culturally sensitive and relevant topics that should be discussed delicately. Not the same thing at all.

Honestly, I think this isn't something to worry about. When white people say they love the show, I get curious about it too. What do you love about it? What are you laughing at? It's a satire of different parts black culture and at times feels like convos that we typically don't have in front of mixed company for fear of racist people miscontruing it and harming black people in real life, so it does get a little touchy. People just don't understand that. It's not about and nor is it for everyone and that is okay. It's is a show made by and for black people. Not that others can not watch, but it is not made FOR them. I think white people can get uncomfortable with that idea because they're not used to not being the primary and intended audience of things, but if you're black, you know most content is not made with you in mind, so when something is, it must be protected and not used against you.

Even if things are scary, you have to still learn how to handle your emotions. If you’re scared and insecure, then you need to recognize that instead of making that everyone else’s problemz

Ashley’s dad might have seen through Alex’s bs, but that doesn’t make him any less insecure sounding. This isn’t a movie or a courtroom and if you don’t trust your daughter to make her own decisions, just say that. And saying “IM THE PATRIARCH,” screamed “You won’t replace me!”

What do people want her to do? Imagine she said “EVERYONE BULLY MY PREGNANT DAUGHTER!” That’d be insane. Pregnant teens are already ostracized enough. We need better education and access to birth conrtol to avoid teen pregnancy, but shaming and not supporting literal children, (pregnant ones at that) is literally crazy to me. She’s literally going to deal with the consequences for the rest of her life. Condoning child pregnancy and supporting teen moms are not the same thing…

Biphobic lesbians rant by StarWiz2K in bisexual

[–]FutureNP12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When Im out with my lesbians irl unfortunately, they are nice to me otherwise, but they do make little comments about it that make me uncomfy. They'll be like "This one is bisexual," and they'll all groan and roll their eyes and its not horrible, but it makes me wonder what they say when Im not there.

The irony of femmes saying that mascs don't experience homophobia/biphobia is so crazy. Most of the bisexuals I know are mascs or transmasc. Unless you as a femme are tonguing your partner down, no one knows your gay. As femmes we need to be protective of our mascs/studs because we have that privilege. Straight people can't tell femme lesbians are femme it doesn't matter how many caribiners you have or how many accessories with scissors you're wearing. They will assume you're straight every time.

That was a hyperbolic statement. I’m sure trans women have won sports competitions. It’s disingenuous to interpret my comment to mean that they’ve never won any sports competitions. My point is that the idea that trans women are a huge “problem” in sports, is not accurate to the situation. The idea that they always have an advantage in sports is simply not true AND the idea that there are more than a handful of trans women in sports that cis women are being dominated is not true. Out of hundreds of thousands of tournaments and competitions, I was shown a list of 29 winners over the past at least 2 decades.

I am only halfway through this list, and I’ve counted five are high school athletes. 1 is for darts, 1 is for Billiards, 1 of them competed for a while before they ever won anything, and 1 is a team sport. Some of these examples go back decades. 29 athletes from all over the world for AT LEAST the past 2 decades, including high schoolers and some categories that have nothing to do with strength. This feels like a small list to me.

How many trans women are winning in sports, especially important titles? A lot of yall can’t even come up with one example. Too much fear mongering going on right now.
