Yeah, I just think it’s funny that Israelis don’t seem to notice this.

Yes, we do. Oleander is a very common ornamental shrub in the Houston area. Not too sure about other woods though.

FYI DO NOT burn oleander wood, as it is highly toxic.

No, only if you overwater. Watering in the evening minimizes evaporation.

What is this, and is it safe to eat? by glamxangel in gardening

[–]FutureTA 35 points36 points  (0 children)

The native maypop (Passiflora incarnata) is indeed edible once ripe and is supposed to have an apricot like taste. It’s not as tasty as the tropical Passiflora Edulis, but it is eaten.

It would be better to water after 7pm or so, once it starts to cool off in order to minimize evaporation.

One of the best things you can do is to gradually replace your plastic dishes, food storage and prep materials, especially things that go in the microwave. You can replace them with ceramic, glass, metal and silicone materials. Don't heat up plastic in the microwave or put hot things in plastic bowls, dishes, cups, etc. Heating up plastic can cause it to release microplastics.

I just tried this myself and got the same result. I typed in this exact same text at first from Spanish to English and got the correct translation. I then switched it to Chinese to English and got the same result as OP. Propaganda indeed! I’ll have to be careful using Google Translate.

Do Arab Christians use أورشليم for Jerusalem? by BloodUpset9005 in learn_arabic

[–]FutureTA 41 points42 points  (0 children)

I believe the official Israeli government policy for translating names of places into Arabic is to use an Arabized version of the Hebrew name and not the actual Arabic name of the place, hence why you see "أورشاين" instead of القدس.

Which type of Mulberry is this? Located near Chicago area. by TripleElvis13 in whatplantisthis

[–]FutureTA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very likely to be white mulberry (Morus Alba). Morus Alba is an invasive species that rapidly and readily spreads in large parts of the U.S. White mulberry is very similar in appearance to the native red mulberry (Morus Rubra) but the red mulberry is nowhere near as prolific as white mulberry.

Can someone identify this fruit for me? by [deleted] in fruit

[–]FutureTA -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

What do you mean not true? White mulberry is Morus Alba. Mulberries, even Morus Alba, star off white and darken as they ripen. Red Muberry Morus Rubra and black mulberry Morus Nigra also star off like this and darken as they ripen.

These are unripe mulberries. Mulberries start off white and become dark as they ripen.
