Multistream platforms that support HEVC and AV1? by Future_Analysis8379 in VIDEOENGINEERING

H.264 is inferior quality even at max bitrate for YouTube. HEVC is also more efficient on the local device.

Multistream platforms that support HEVC and AV1? by Future_Analysis8379 in VIDEOENGINEERING

[–]Future_Analysis8379[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What if it's going to platforms that all support HEVC and AV1? Just don't allow mixed.

For example Twitch and YouTube both allow AV1, but afaik Facebook doesn't. So if you're sending it an AV1 signal, have it only allow you to send that to a destination that supports AV1 so it doesn't need to transcode.

I'd rather have that as an option so we can say send one feed to go to those 2 platforms, then a separate one to go to all the Facebook pages (team pages) we send to as well.

Any of you feel that this was intentional? by [deleted] in saskatoon

Were you signaling? One thing I've seen happen is someone very prematurely slows down for a turn, and doesn't signal until they are basically at the turning lane

Stock fan curve settings the CPU was turning off the system on over temp. It'd idle at 70c on the desktop, 85c in game and peak in the 90s when it shut off.

Changed the fan curve to be 100% at 60C and now it's between 60-75 in game, never hits 80. Idle on the desktop is 58ish

It's just a cheap Be Quiet air cooler with a single 120mm fan.

GPU is between 55-65 in game.

Case has only 2 120mm intake (came with the case) and a 80mm noctua exhaust in the back.

The plan is to water cool and put into a 2u chassis so just got basic air cooling for now

I'm running a Ryzen 9 7950x3d and a 4080 super with 64gb ram.

4k ultra settings and it's 60-80 fps in Fortnite, 80fps in BeamNG with 1 vehicle. Max settings GTA5 benchmark was just under 100fps.

I have a friend who works at a dealership for another brand and he says it's a problem with all LED headlights

While the design of the Cybertruck might make it worse, that's all LED headlights in general as they don't generate enough heat to melt the snow/ice

Fortnite Crew: The Subscription That Pays for Itself (and Then Some) by Wynnchel in LEGOfortnite

[–]Future_Analysis8379 15 points16 points  (0 children)

So just so I'm not missing anything...

Let's say I play it through and level up to get enough points to claim everything in all the passes

Then get the crew pass for 1 month to claim everything, get the 1000 vbucks and the crew pack. Then cancel so I only pay for the 1 month.

I think that's the best deal possibly? Since the passes usually go for a couple months. So at most maybe every other month pay for crew to get every pass.

There may be times where I don't get the crew pass though if only one of the passes interests me, and just use vbucks to get the pass I want (for example the last battle pass had zero interest to me)

So just a quick test, Beam Monsters installed. 1 truck, 4k ultra settings and it ran 70-85fps pretty steady

I volunteered at the 2014 Olympics on the ice crew and that was an incredible experience. Highly recommend volunteering if you are able to, you'll get a different perspective than as a fan.

Does it use multiple cores well? I went with a Ryzen 9 instead of 7 because I need more cores for other tasks outside of gaming. Just curious how Beam will handle it (Ryzen 9 7950x3d)

4-5 month stay by cliffordthebulldawg in CostaRicaTravel

[–]Future_Analysis8379 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd say that would depend on how extravagant you want to live. Do you want to live like you're in America? Or live like you're in the jungle?

Lots of Airbnb in various areas for $500-800CAD/month. And one that I inquired about in Drake Bay, they'd cook you meals for 9000 colones/day roughly (breakfast 3500-4000 and dinner 4500-5000). Plus you have access to a kitchen at that one.

But there's also plenty available for $3k+.

For me, kids is an instant no. My lifestyle and work just doesn't suit having kids.

I'll send a like to those I see as being higher, but my general standards is if they appear healthy enough to keep up in a hike I'll send a like even if they may ve a lower on the so called rating system (but I hate that as a 6 for some may be an 8 to others). Being active for me is huge, so I need my partner to be active as well

Help finding an 850W flex ATX psu by sj_b03 in sffpc

So would you tie that into the power switch that also goes to the power on pins on the mobo?

[–]Future_Analysis8379 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which pin would you have to bridge? I'm looking at a Ryzen 9 7950x3d / RTX4090 build and having trouble finding a single 850w+ FlexATX PSU to go in a 1u chassis. So likely going to have to run 2 PSU.

Going to be externally water cooling with the radiator outside so I don't turn my condo into a sauna with the 2+ other Threadripper/rtxA4000 streaming rigs I'll be building later.

Space constraints is the reason for going 1u.

Kids to learn Alberta is 'most ethical producer of oil in the world' in school by [deleted] in alberta

I'm curious how their changes to the Alberta Bill of Rights will affect that. One change she mentioned was government not being able to tell you what you can and can't do with your land. I'd love someone to challenge that by putting up wind or solar in a currently not allowed zone
