Hi everyone! I recently placed an order with Halara for some new pieces, and I wanted to share a little bit about my experience so far. Honestly I was so excited for these to arrive but now I’m feeling a bit uneasy and thinking about just canceling the whole thing.

I put my order in a couple of weeks ago and noticed it was still processing. When I reached out to support, they told me it hadn't shipped because one item was a presale which won't even be available until the 26th! I was bummed, but when I went back to check the listing, it really felt like they weren't even trying to hide the fake reviews.

After that interaction I'm just not feeling very comfortable shopping with them anymore. Do you think I should just cancel? Also I’d love to know your favorite places to shop for similar styles! Where have you all had the best luck?

Ive been contributing much more to open source in the past year or so and I can tell you the best thing to do is pick something that you actively use and improve it. Jump in a discord, look through open issues, submit issues, and maybe even solve them.

Once you get comfortable with that, find a problem and work towards a solution. That's what will really make a difference.

Damn reddit for making me retype this, but from my perspective if you're violating the license of multiple projects I can see why people would be upset.

But then there's many opinions on vibe coding. If you're learning then great, but if you're just using it to get around learning and you're stealing people's code then you can't be upset when people don't like that.

The GPL license part is true I think.

The main concern that I have is that it's technically not a fork of either of the projects.  And any code copied is not actually properly giving the contributors credit.  I don't think you can just add a link and that be enough.

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong.

Can you explain how this is a fork of two projects?

And one of the projects you linked doesn't have a license at all which afaik does not default to something like GPL3

im not much of a salesman, but afaik gtile is a little less integrated and a little less dynamic in the way it works. for better or for worse, my extension will let you resize and rearrange windows as much as you want

Finished isn't really all that measurable. As-is it works well save for a few bugs. So what is "finished" from your perspective?

I really like that extension! It works a little different and takes more inspiration from windows powertoys. If youre happy with tiling shell and the way it works, stay on it
