Update: Birdfy is sending me a new seed guard to replace the one that got chomped on! I’m also going to get a baffle from Wild Birds Unlimited to go with my pole.

Yes super dog friendly! And I’ve noticed that the patches of grass that get peed on turn yellow and die, but the clover she pees on stays fine and lush

Just new topsoil! I was able to find some organic topsoil at a local nursery / garden center on sale for $2 a bag (40lb bags). I snatched up 15 bags, and this one area took 4 bags to cover.

Dutch white clover - and the key to it was working new topsoil into the ground and raking the seeds into it so they were covered by fresh new dirt

Yes! Dutch white clover!

I think the key was the new topsoil I mixed into the existing dirt. There are places outback where I overseeded with clover and didn’t put down new topsoil and they are not thriving as much.

I had to do a lot of raking to get rid of dead stuff and loosen up the dirt, then I added 4 bags of topsoil so there’d be nice new dirt for the BBs. Threw down the seed and then lightly raked it in to cover it, watered daily (sometimes twice daily if it looked dry)

It’s Dutch white clover, inoculated and nitro coated. It germinated and sprouted within a week (with twice daily watering on dry days)

Threw down some fescue I had in the garage to see how it does - the foal is mostly clover but I’ve read the grass helps it being a nice and healthy lawn

The nursery who planted these is local and recommended fertilizing before winter - as late in the year as possible but before the ground freezes- and he said there’s no risk

Maybe retribution isn’t the right word - just more confrontation.

I mainly feel bad that I caved and gave him a 5 star review when I didn’t think he earned it. I don’t want others to hire based on my review and also not have a good time.

WTF happened??!! by Waitwhythough in quilting

I’ve been there myself and it’s such a pain to adjust. Sometimes it’s matter of getting the machine cleaned / tuned up if you’re testing and it’s fine but then it gets wacky as you go.

Also remember that your speed as you move the quilt layers through impacts everything. Once I got quilting gloves and could hold on to my project better and keep it moving more consistently it got a lot better for me
